Don't need an election to become PM, Johnson did not have the confidence of the house when May proposed him to the Queen. Current score on votes 0-6

Surely this is the time to have some sort of Constitutional Convention so that those from all sides of the debate can come together and codify our Constitution instead of relying on Bagehot, Erskine May and precedent?

Agreed, but when will there be time? Just muddle on as usual I suspect. The important thing is to have an independent Supreme Court unlike the US variety picked by politicians, to ensure that the law is followed and parliament is not bypassed

A written constitution would be great but I don't see it not getting bent and stretched by interpretation.

I wonder how long it will be before the courts are used again to interfere with parliament?
