Damning indictment of crewe alexandra/Bennell/Hard to Believe

Its the right thing to do. But havent't the clubs who he worked for got to conduct some kind of investigation or present the results of one to the FA?

 

Both Sjoke and Man.City have said today that they will conduct internal enquiries.Not sure who else has done the same but there are eleven clubs who are involved.

Thought the players at Crewe affected by this would have taken a group action against the club.Surely they had a duty of care to protect these players from paedophiles like Bennell.It was common knowledge that this was happening and the club tried to brush it under the carpet.

The second worst thing to come out of this would be - how many youngsters have made complaints to other players and to the club, and had no response, except blind eyes being turned and carpets swept under? As the title of this thread says - a damning indictment!! Shocking, actually - and I'm so pleased that Vale are not involved. If this ruins Crewe Alex, in the long run, that would be karma!

At best they were negligent in their oversight.

 

I'm staggered more action hasn't been taken against them. It was one man's actions, but this was at least mentioned several times to the big wigs at the club. They either didn't care, didn't want to know, or were that incompetent they allowed mass peadophilia to occur in an institution which worked with hundreds of children.

 

If this was, say, an acting academy, or a social club, it'd be shut down immediately and the bosses would be prosecuted for allowing such heinous crimes to go unnoticed for so long, knowingly or ignorantly.

 

For some reason, as they're a football club, they've been allowed to censor meetings, ban journalists, and get away with a bit of bad press and a telling off. Sickening.
