Crewe Alex need to address all the questions that have arisen from this sorry state of affairs. There is the strongest possible perception that the Board and Management knew a lot more of Bennell's activities than they have disclosed. The only way this perception will go away is for all the questions to be answered. The integrity and good name of a football club require that those who are able to make a decision do so now.

If no one covered up for Bennell then it would be a simple matter to answer the questions.

Over to you Mr Bowler and Mr Gradi.

Are we to believe that Radio Stoke's Crewe Alex reporter heard absolutely nothing about all this over the years?

what absolutely disgusting is that these thoughts and suspicions have been about 20 years. ive worked in coaching locally and was warned about him from the off, reports from parents of kids at crewe were rife and nothing has been done until now.

Radio Stoke :laugh::laugh: Didn't the Crewe reporter Peter Morse say that it was all exaggerated?

Quick....Lift the carpet and start sweeping.

I rang into Radio Stoke a few months ago, after a representative of the Crewe team stated that it was disgusting that Gradi was still suspended. No one at the club has admitted to knowing about it. I worked close to Gresty Road through the seventies eighties and nineties, people were aware then i know for a fact. Crewe Alexandra, Peter Morse hang your heads in shame.

crewe say that they had no inkling of the abuse whilst bennell was there no complaints and he left for footballing reasons.

Which has been refuted tonight on Granada,a special board meeting was called in the late 80's,an employee (Chief exec)was concerned about Bennells behaviour, a QC has said that this meeting would have been minuted and it would make very interesting reading.

Bennell was dismissed in the 90's for footballing reasons.

The BBC report makes some claims which appear to suggest Crewe's hierarchy did nothing to protect children entrusted to them.

It's clearly time for those involved at the time o be open and honest and NOT to bury their heads in the sand.

I feel desperately sorry for the victims and the awful effect it has had on their lives.

It was very common knowledge in North Staffs/South Cheshire that these things were going on, or had gone on in the past.

I'm sorry I simply don't believe no-one officially associated with the club knew! They have just buried their heads for decades.
