Big News - Ah Kid Tom is coming home..

We'll not get the best out of Pope until we've got two wingers and a creative midfielder in the line-up. The key to getting the best out of him is the quality of balls into the box.

Last season was the worst one I can remember for a lack of attacking creativity. I lost count the number of times we barely had a shot on target in the first 45 minutes. That has to change.

Jeez, Thomas? Really? Scored against Chesterfield, what did he really do before/after that? He was all bluster and no substance. Can't really remember him creating many assists either. Massively flattered to deceive and such a disappointment when he actually made it to the pitch. A potential threat for about 20 minutes, until teams realised he was way past it and left him alone, as did our players. Don't even get me started on the perceived effort he was mailing in.

We need someone like Jennison Myrie-Williams to come in and get us 10 goals and 10 assists from the wing like he did in promotion season. What I'd give for production like that from a midfielder. Sadly a lot of people disliked him for some reason.

I loved Jenno. Would have him back tomorrow.

Think some fans didn't rate him as he didn't throw himself into tackles. The sort of fans that are stuck in the 1960's basically.

I flipping loved JMW, people didn't rate him because he couldn't tackle and was great taking penalties!

One of the last wide players we had who could actually score goals as well as getting assists.

Done nothing since he left us.

I loved JMW, but he got hounded out for some reason in the end, despite his clear productivity on that wing. I think people got frustrated because not all his crosses and shots found their target. But that's extremely harsh on him, because he made more chances than anybody else in that team. People sitting in the paddock always seem frustrated he didn't take it on down the line more. But if they'd watched closely, he always had at least 2 men on him stopping him doing that. He had to cut in and he was more than handy doing so.

When he left, he was a big loss and one we haven't found a replacement for. Hopefully in the summer we will do so. Thomas wasn't good or fit enough to lace JMW's boots.

Same again this coming season Tom.

We just need a J.M. Williams and a Vincent type on the wings to supply him.

Feed the Pope and he will score!

Stop it PV, the thought of Pope down the middle, an A J Letch Smith type playing along side him and two wingers either side, one of whom I hope will be Chris Eagles, is the stuff of dreams. By bringing Pope back that is how I think Michael Brown will set the team up particularly at home, just hope Vale can attract the right caliber players.

Eagles isn't really a pacy winger who goes on the outside and bangs crosses over. Seemed to revel more in the free role or as it is fashionable to call it the number 10 role.

I don't see Eagles supplying loads of balls on Popes' bonce. I hope i am wrong.
