Nah mate. Try harder. I know you're desperately trying and salvage some of mar mate Bill's reputation, but its gone mate. Let it go son.

What SEO did was remove V2001 from the club, wiped the debt, and gave us a fantastic opportunity to start afresh after a decade of continuous decline. SEO, or no other supporters, had any say in who bought the club next.

We're in this position because the man who bought the club next happened to be egotistical, incompetent, and footballing illiterate. Thats why 'we are where we are'.

Whilst I don't always prescribe to your doom and gloom, hear hear. Absolutely bob on.

Too many fans have had enough and are just walking away. Any attempt to sell the club with decreasing fan base with be impossible at the asking prices suggested.

SEO campaign not needed.

Only thing needed is NS to ask a sensible price (to not include a refund for his expenses and errors) or NS to take a little pride dent admit mistakes have been made, show that NS can learn from them, invest in the squad for next season and regain trust through actions.

Fans can then accept the change, regain love for the club, NS can then stand a chance of getting his asking price, and everyones a winner.

The current stand off is just a loser for the club, the fans, and NS ego.

Not sure NS wants to be remembered for the man who destroyed and damage the club. Ego surely is bigger than that.

Still chance to turn around and be remembered for achieving long term success.

There's a local company who would love to take the club on. All Norm has to do is swallow his pride, admit and pay for his mistakes and leave the club in the hands of people who want the best for it. I really am clear on the last bit. HE has to pay for the mistakes he's made. Currently the asking price leaves the bill with the incoming owners which is disgraceful and limits the new owner pool because most level-headed businessmen/women don't pay over the odds for things even if they are sentimentally attached to them.

Norm, get someone in who can put a proper valuation on the club as a going concern, not with a £10m ground, a squad worth £x million and god knows what else. Find someone who isn't a yes man to tell you something you don't want to hear, but is the truth.

A triumph for SEO, non league football beckons. I just wish some of you would acknowledge that, however well meant, pulling the rug from under V2001 without a workable plan B was partially responsible for our current sutuation. I am fed up with the "we had to do it, V2001 were killing the club" attitude. That is all.

It wouldn't have mattered if SEO/B&G had drawn up a detailed, meticulous, 15 year plan after 'pulling the rug'. They had no say in what happened after admin, 0 input. A plan would be completely redundant. If they had, I would bet we wouldn't have Smurf in control. Stop talking rubbish and rewriting history.

Mar Mate is gone RZ. Move on.

Over the last year or two we have all seen a downward spiral in the direction the club is heading. Relegation to the 4th tier I believe will only be the beginning of our ultimate demise. A short while ago I like many more Vale fans I was full of anticipation. Promises had been made by our new owner saying that he would take the club back to the dizzy heights of the Championship. We were all living the dream.

Sadly it became clear that the man at the helm hadn't got a clue of how to deliver on these big promises. Trying to run the club single handedily and cutting the wage budget certainly wasn't my idea of how to improve Port Vale F C.

Whether we are relegated or not to me makes very little difference to the fact that Norman Smurthwaite must leave the club before he inflicts any more damage to the Club and our already tarnished image.

The list of reasons why he must be removed is endless. His rudeness and arrogance melts into insignificance compared to the general damage that he has inflicted on the Club.

The big issue is how do we persuade the man that it his time is up? Personally I believe that it needs a total boycott from purchasing Season Tickets. I am well aware that I will get slated by many fans who misguidedly will carry on buying one regardless. Stop and think about it do you want this man in charge any longer? To do nothing for me is no longer an option, Smurthwaite has got to be made aware once and for all that he isn't wanted and we won't support his mission to destroy the Club that we have loyally supported for decades. I'm getting too old to wait for a re-incarnation by natural means and have no wish to stand outside the main entrance protesting.

I'm sure that by inflicting 'short term pain will result in long term gain' and if I'm wrong well surely the pain we are currently going through couldn't possibly get any worse. As things stand I can see no light at the end of this long black tunnel and hope is something that supporting a lower league club is imperative.

Couldn't wait for this could you?

Pitchforks away please.

I had no particular affiliations to Mar mate but you have proved my point exactly.

Nailed it. Not a lot more needs to be said, & this blaming of the fans constantly is absurd.

How have I proved your point? The fans knew that under V2001 we were sliding towards non-league. They knew that V2001 had to go. They did everything in their power to achieve that. Then they placed their faith in the administrators and the process that the right buyer would be found. Its hardly a step into the unknown, is it? You insinuated the fans were so caught up in protesting and having a good moan that they neglected any future planning. That was far from the case, and they trusted the process to find a buyer.

I realised that you would soon come on criticising my post but tell me oh wise one what is your solution to the problem. Remember approx. 2,000 have already voted with their feet.

I'm not sure but what I won't do is put the final nail in the clubs coffin. Three admins in a relatively short space of time would be the end of the club- no one would touch us

Now you are rewriting history. We were steadily improving in league 2 and would have been in the playoffs but for the 10 point deduction. V2001 had appointed Adams as manager, he got us the promotion, not Norman. The fans brought down the previous regime and were naive enough to trust the administrators to make the right decision for them (the fans) when they (the administrators) had no affiliation to the club. The fans could have no say in the future planning by your admission.

Why would I want my football club that I chose to support many years ago to go to the wall?

Unless you have somebody with deep pockets or a manager that double's up as a magician then clubs go through what we are going through. Yes our chairman IS to blame this season as it appears everything he has put forward has failed, yes we need to be sold, yes we need a new manager (I know we have had no luck and I would have loved Brown to have been a success but he is not up to the job) and yes we need investment, but what you are suggesting will destroy the club which has survived for 141 years.

https://www.endole.co.uk/company/02685135/synectics-solutions-limited have they really got the cash to run a league club ?

Compare those figures to the Vale's recently released accounts. These figures show a well run business making a profit, something I'd love Vale to do. Smurf bought Vale for less than they have cash in the bank. If they ran us as successfully as they're running Synectics, maybe they wouldn't need to plough in the £3.7 m of loans Smurf has to take us backwards.
