There are about 10 weeks left and it's worth considering splashing the cash on a key player to keep us up. The cost of going down will far exceed his wages for 3-4 months. But as we all know there are very few if any players out there who are 100% match fit.

It's a shame because I think if we'd had a big centre back playing on Saturday we would not have conceded those goals and perhaps got a positive result, but our defending off high balls was, predictably, poor.

Must be loads of players in the championship who's contacts are up at the end of season and not in their present managers frame,(expecting to be released) and kept themselves in good shape might be looking for game time to put themselves in the shop window for next season, just a thought

We can't sign anyone currently with a club, only a non contract player.

And the problem with them is that they are not 100% match fit. There is a reason why they haven't got a club.

And we can't wait for them to play 6-8 games to get fit. We need players now not in 6 weeks time.

It's a huge problem.

Problem is we need to win at least 3 games and preferably 4 (and draw a few) but it's impossible to win games without scoring a goal or few. An out of contract striker with the instincts/knack/track reciord for scoring goals who can play for 60-70% of the game is better than what we've got, I just don't see where the goals are coming from to win sufficient games to keep the Vale up.

I was thinking on the lines of player leaving club by mutual consent, would he not be considered a free agent
