Premiership 16/17 Season

Recommended Posts

You obviously have no clue what you're on about. Tell me what trophies Barca won in the 2007-08 season, the year Pep took over? A team that had Henry, Eto'o, Ronaldhino, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Thuram, Zambrotta, I could go on. The answer, nothing? They even finished third in the league and were falling to bits.

Your frankly made up, blind faith is enough for him to get you to drink poison. Try learning a bit of stuff from other clubs, not just the Liverpool website and Wikipedia. For starters, there's an excellent documentary on Pep on Sky at the moment; not one on Klopp though, funny that.

As a long standing viewer of the Bundesliga, I think, and I'm not just saying this to wind you up, It's very soon going to be a case of "Jurgen who" the way Thomas Tuchel is going at Dortmund

That's the biggest load of nonsense I've ever had to endure reading on this site. That takes some going, so much so that I feel like I almost should say congratulations!

You really don;t know what you're on about then. Are you suggesting, that Pep took over at a successful team at Barca?

Stick to carving up other people's opinions to form another load of over analyzed tat.

Guardiola took over a team that had the likes of Puyol, Iniesta, Xavi, Ronaldinho, Messi and Eto'o. With those sort of players it's almost a crime for any genuinely top manager to not enjoy considerable success. Would he have achieved anything like what he did if he had taken over at Atletico Madrid instead, or Valencia? No, he wouldn't. Let's also not forget that he didn't win the Champions League with FC Bayern unlike previous managers.

As for Tuchel, he's been doing a great job with Dortmund, no doubt about it, but whether you like it or not Klopp is still worshiped there. And let's not forget that Klopp got the better of Tuchel last season when Liverpool deservedly knocked Dortmund out of the UEFA Cup. But no doubt you will insist that it was irrelevant, perhaps that Tuchel had a cold over the two legs and couldn't focus properly or something rather bizarre.

Seriously, watch the documentary on Pep, it's very interesting (and the City part is minimal). As Henry say in that show, he is judged on Champions Leagues not domestic trophies or league titles: that says it all and I'm only stating my source so it doesn't look like I'm ripping off Thierry Henry!

I do admire your loyalty but I'm never going to believe that Klopp is in Pep's league because he isn't. Klopp is probably the perfect blend of personality and footballing know-how but I think that nice guys only get so far.

I totally lied about Tuchel, I was winding you up- love a spar wit you Col, it's been a while! Tuchel will, for me, be the next manager to enter the elite of European football. Do you know every now and then he watches training form a cherry picker to get a better view of what's going on? That's thinking outside the box- without going all Glenn Hoddle.

Yeah, I enjoy it, this place just wouldn't be the same without you winding me up like few others can. Fair play!

I won't disagree about Tuchel, he's had a similar sort of impact as Klopp did for Dortmund, but the fact that there's often a huge Klopp banner floating around the stands inside the Westfalenstadion shows how much of an impact Jurgen Klopp had on that football club and how much he's still revered there. I also think he will leave the same sort of impact at Liverpool providing that people are patient. I'm genuinely interested in seeing how Guardiola does at City because for all of there spent money over the last few season's they've been absolute miles behind Europe's elite. If he's even half as outstanding as you, and plenty others in fairness, state he is then with the backing he'll have, and has had already, he shouldn't have too many problem turning them into a superpower in footballing terms during his time there.

Man Utd

Man City

Spurs

I'll let Beechy and Beasty sort the 4th place out

Liverpool/Arsenal/Chelsea.

I find it quite remarkeble that Arsenal have only signed one player that you could consider to be first team material in Xhaka. They've been crying out for another top striker for seasons now as you're just not going to win the league relying on Olivier Giroud, and yet Wenger seems too stubborn to try and do something about it since failing with a Jamie Vardy transfer.
