UK Independence Day - 23 June, 2016?

Aussie Rules

Recommended Posts

Tell that to the tens of thousands of ordinary UK working people who want to retire in the next two years or so and who's pensions are invested in the stock market in money purchase schemes and who now can't and have to keep working because their pensions are now reduced

If they are retiring in the next two years their pensions will not be invested in risky stock market shares but will have been moved into low yield but absolutely rick solid investment vehicles instead

And it will go up again at some point..doubt they were complaining when it was rocketing and they were doing well compared to those relying on interest rates. Interest rates that could now rise significantly benefitting those that rely on such things. Swings and roundabouts.

The stock market goes up and down but these are now very uncertain times and for how long who knows, Brexit need not and shouldn't have happened.

Democracy isn't about what need not happen or should not happen but about what the people choose.....rightly or wrongly. I was a remainer but the people have chosen...we have to make the best of it.

The question it raises Barry is if it isnt enacted will the politicians be ready willing and able to deal with the backlash.

Its one thing to get elected on promises written in the mist its something quite different to disreguard a decision made by the people from one simple question... no matter which side of the political spectrum you sit you lose 50% of the electorate... wow... now that is a scary thought... if you are a politician that is.

Indeed, thats why there's a bit of a flap on, it usually splits parties into pieces. As we say at the Vale, Strap etc

Where else should we invest then? Leaving money in a savings account will, for sure not give you any decent return and small amounts of interest set against rising prices is also a risk!

Im not saying you shouldnt Im saying its a risk

At the moment £s are good for me... buy em low sell em when they climb again.

I think it would more than split them
There are other ways, a new PM could call a general election explaining the financial and trading conditions provisionally arranged with the EU, for example the Norway system or whatever , say what he would do if elected otherwise the new governments election stance would be implemented. Of course there may not be a majority and the aftermath bloody also. In the meantime there is a new season to look forward to.
