Possibly, and whilst every penny counts would this be worthwhile? I can only assume we've done it to get some sell on fee or something, should the lad ever get anywhere near his potential. Any up front fee would be poxy in the extreme and maybe not worth the risk of him signing his new deal here!

As for an official statement from the club using the OFFICIAL club website.Then don't hold your breath waiting for any news on the official club website.Because it's a waste of time for news updates.

Thats a real surprise. Unless Pagey thinks the loan at Chester has brought him on.

 

I guess firstly nobody knows for certain. I guess the other unknown is how he's progressed when playing first team football. I don't feel he has the strength or pace to make it, but if it is true I'd hope we see a significantly improved player this preseason to last.

Lets hope a fee doesnt put them off. Last time i saw Lloyd play he looked too lightweight and too easily knocked off the ball. Has this changed recently?

Lets say that was the case, you then run the risk of them not willing to pay a fee.

It begins. The criteria surely has to be

 

a) Is the player good enough to be part of a playoff 1st eleven? If yes - retain, if no then;

b) Are they good enough to help us out in an event of an injury/suspension crisis and contribute? If yes - retain if we don't have cover in that position, release if not. Again release if the answer is no.

 

I don't really see how Ryan Lloyd fits either of those criteria.

 

Lloyd can play left back, left side midfield, centre midfield, so I think he does fit the criteria.

Just had a quick look for where it was said.Couldnt find the actual article where it was said though.(Have the sentinel altered it online maybe?)Gave up looking in the end due to the annoying pop up add's.

 

But it was defy there where it said talk to players Monday & Tuesday release retained list Wednesday.

For a fee to be commanded you have to offer the same, if not better deal as the last deal was I.e. If Lloyd was on 500 pounds a week we can't offer 100 and get a fee it has to be 500 or above. the lad has gotten away with treading water for 7 years, he is not a league one player

Someone said it on Radio Stoke, pretty sure it wasn't in The Sentinel. I think it was when I was driving home on Saturday, but I could be wrong. I think it was whichever ex player was summarising - can't remember if it was Sproston or Williams.

Is it not what we did with Morsy? We offered him the same terms despite knowing he was never going to sign.

The other criteria is to be at least average in the league for 5 - 10 games and sadly I've personally not even see Lloyd being average.
