It's a bigger game than yesterday's in my opinion.

If we can win at Exeter it keeps things very interesting on two fronts until January at least.

For financial reasons, and what any extra earnings may enable us to do, it's a monster!

Always a plus at Xmas with a juicy cup tie to look forward to.

Would be making a few changes for this one, Purkiss has to play for Yates, would look to be dropping O'Connor who has not found last seasons form yet. The best football we have played so far was when we had Foley and Grant together in the middle.

I would be looking at;

Alnwick

Purkiss

Streete

Duffy

McGivern

Birchall

Foley

Grant

Kelly

AJ

Uche

Not sure how long Byron is out for but maybe keep Birchall in.

Intersting post on their forum following this weekend's results:

Vale have won 4 out of 5 of their recent league games. The 4 wins have all been against teams in the bottom half though (and 2 in the relegation places). They also lost to Rochdale in their last game, and were taken to a replay by Maidenhead. They don't score bags of goals either, which suggests to me they like to keep it tight. They have 2 players on 5 goals each, so no real stand out striker this season. Seems to me we need to go for their throats from the off and not sit back. I really hope Noble or Oyeleke are fit (ideally both). They are top half league 1 for a reason, but we are at home, and shouldn't be scared of them in my view. The best chance we have had for round 3 in many a year, and with a fair wind we could turn these over. I hope there is a decent and loud turnout to play their part

Let's hope we can disappoint them!

Id take a draw and bring them back to vale and beat them there and with the extra game it would be extra gate money for both teams.

Just do it in the 1 game, get it over and done with. Then onto the next round.Would rather not add extra games to the fixture list injuries, suspensions & tiredness could catch up this time of the year.Go there get the job done and into the next round.

I only said take a draw as we have a poor away record won 2 drew 2 lost 6 whereas at home we have been good apart from against maidenhead and blackpool in the jp trophy game.
