I think that if Mo gets 51% he will make all the decisions without consulting any of the other shareholders, that is why he wants 51%, that is the minimum to gain control.

 

I'd rather than scenario, whereby someone has actually paid for a majority holding than the current scenario where Jackson calls the shots with a shareholding of under 20%.

If I owned £50'000 worth of shares I would want more input than that of 999 people who own £50 worth each. Even in a 999/1 voting situation if the one owns more isn't it fair that the one person should get the overall decision due to a larger investment in total?

 

All this confuses me a bit.

 

It depends...

 

Let's say for instance you called an EGM and you owned 10000 shares. There are 1000 people who support your motion, each owning 1 share.

 

Now, your opponents number 6, but own 2000 shares each and have no other supporters.

 

In this scenario, by a one share one vote you would lose because 11000 is obviously less than 12000, even though actually you are the major shareholder. However, if you specified one man one vote, you'd forfeit 9999 of your poll votes, but you'd win the motion 1001 to 6.

 

So even a major shareholder can get benefits from a one man one vote system that he wouldn't get from a one share one vote poll.

I genuinely don't know which way Robert Lee would be compelled to vote. I'd hope he sees sense to vote in accordance with protecting his shareholding and the future wellbeing in the club, as opposed to voting to keep old men that're losing their grip on reality.

I think that with the poll indicating a massive no confidence in the board I cannot understand why they think another poll will change that. It will just waste time and money. Surely if the board really do care about the wishes of the shareholders and supporters who incidentally actually put them there then they should now do the honourable thing and stand aside. To stay on only shows how little they appreciate the feelings of the shareholders/supporters and will only confirm what most feel and that is this is nothing to do with the best interests of PVFC but to protect their positions. If you are a real man Bill do the honourable thing and resign along with the other board members.
