New Striker - JJ Hooper

I ended my post with good work smurf and page which I thought in terms of the English language was a quite positive last few words.

I suppose for those users of "American Slang" such as still deems de breaks that could be mistaken for negativity.

Still get back to de hoodie and de homies before de mum and de dad come home and send you to bed with your did de

Muppet ..

I must say, having watched some of the You Tube clips, I like the look of him. He seems a no-nonsense 'stick it in the net' type of forward, and with lots of confidence as well.

I hope he quickly gets up to speed, and maybe having him on the bench and giving him cameo roles might be a good way of speeding up that process?.

Hopefully with the similar impact that David Fairclough had at Liverpool.

I can see where you're coming from, and it is strange that Hooper trialled at 3 Scottish clubs this Summer without being taken on by any of them, but he seems to have the knack of finding the net so hopefully he can continue that at League 1 level.

We have to hope that at least 1 of those 5 or 6 forward options can either completely defy their previous goalscoring record/or fulfil their potential and bag 10-15 league goals this season.

Maybe he was keeping his options open and waiting for the best possible move for himself? He's clearly ambitious and wants to succeed so has put himself in a few shop windows?

Rob Page on RS tonight says JJ will have to play reserve team football to get him up to speed for league football sounds a sensible move.

JJ Hooper has spent the summer on trial training and playing in pre-season games so shouldn't be far off......

Campion played reserve football for a year scoring for fun to get "up to speed for league football" only for

Page to end saturday without a striker rather than give Campion 15 minutes to win it.

So Campion great in the reserves needs competitive experience in non-league and Hooper great in non-league

needs to play reserve football to get up to speed.

Just support the team instead of overthinking too much you might enjoy it more

Yep.

You've either got it or you ain't. And he ain't.

You know this how?

I'm quite sure other players who are now successful have struggled in their first 3 games. Remember he had no pre season behind him and was playing against two very strong sides, and did score in one of the matches. He may not be good enough but how you can come to that conclusion after 3 matches seems very harsh. Surely deserves a chance, probably on loan elsewhere first.
