I so wanted Man City to miss out on the Champions Lge spot but ah well. Given the money spent an inept team and as for Jesus Navas more like Jesus Wept. Man C need a new back four and two new central midfield players at the very least, interesting time ahead for Pep.

Shocking from Spurs who showed that as a young side they are mentally not quite there. They still have a brighter future under Pochettino than Arsenal do with Wenger on my opinion, and players like Alli, Lamela and Kane can only get better.

That defeat at Chelski seems to have finished off Spurs,shocking attitude at St.James'.

Dead rubber now at Old Trafford on Tuesday,with plenty of empty seats, Utd.will field mainly their second team with the Cup Final coming up.

Spurs did me in for £800 odd as well. Only had them to draw or win! Woeful showing, especially against 10 men, although that horrible dive from sissoko seemed like a catalyst.

That was indeed a poor effort by Sissoko but I'm not weeping about it after what Spuds' Deli Alli did to Chris Lines!

 

Spuds let in two very poor goals in the first half - the marking for the Mitrovic header was pathetic from a team with the best defensive record in the Prem. First 10 minutes of the second half they were the better side and when they pulled a goal back, I thought they'd get at least a point. The sending off benefitted Newcastle more funnily enough - crazy challenge, fully deserving of a red - because Spuds just threw more men foward and made themselves very vulnerable on the break against the pace of Sissoko, Townsend and Arrons.

 

The crowd were astonishing all through the game. I can imagine what the atmosphere would have been like at Vale Park if Vale had already been relegated. At SJP it was a sell out, from first minute to last there was no negativity or shouting against Ashley and Co, just loads for singing and support for Rafa Benitez. Apparently the pubs in the city were absolutely bouncing after the game - I was supping tea at my sister-in-law's!

Not much use then though once the best Newcastle can hope for is 4th from bottom? To turn your comment about Vale fans on its head, you may be right about the positivity now, but I suspect there wouldn't be a sizeable section of the crowd calling for the manager to go if we were 5th in the Premier League!

It's been a refreshingly, delightful PL season that will live long in the memory. Whilst the big 5-6 'Club managers were squabbling once again as to what the top 4 formation would be come season's end they were out-foxed by a quiet man. Absolutely wonderful.

 

And whilst all that was happening Bournemouth slipped under the radar with their own message for the PL.

Leicester,Watford and Bournemouth should all be proud of their achievements this season Barry.I was very disappointed though with Watford's decision to replace their manager,who'd done a decent job in my opinion.
