New striker required - by the head scratching page

What we can afford on a new striker may depend on how many of those already offered terms accept them. It is always a lengthy business as players are under contract to the end of June and can use the time to look around for better offers while agents will tell them to wait as long as possible unless the offer is very good. Other players who may be targeted are probably in the same position with their own clubs and the same may apply to coaches. Look for another month or so of gossip and rumour and actual signings towards the end of June, beginning of July.

I still would like to give page his chance, he kept us up he deserves another crack surely? what I am bothered about is people at the club saying we need a clearout on social media in various messages, and then the manager keeping everyone on. just beggars belief. and I still maintain if the product is good on the pitch, the fans will return. what the fans wont do is come back in their droves when you've got players on a pitch who aren't good enough week in week out. smurf if you want bigger gates, get us a top signing and watch the fans flock!

Lewis Alessandra from Plymouth is out of contract. There are rumours that he wants a move up north apparently to live closer to his family :). Maybe Vale could get him :). He is linked with a move to Walsall as well :).

To have any chance of doing anything you really need two strikers capable of hitting around 20 goals each,we have one but will more than likely lose him,so we have to try and find those strikers on the money we are going to pay.....that's a tough ask for me
