I think we would struggle to find a decent alternative manager. Let's face it, football management is a small community and most of them know each other. Most potential managers will talk to Micky Adams about why he left and only the really desperate out of work ones will apply. Do we want that? Rob Page will be a decent manager for someone, why not us? He knows the situation already and is trying to do his best within the constraints imposed upon him.

Ok. Tell me. Why do you say Page is decent manager? I'm interested to know.

perhaps tactics?Transfers?Loans?Giving young players a chance? Standing up to the chairman?

3 points from 27 for Page. Cheerio time on the 4th May.

So cheerio it is .....And who are you going to bring in ? Gamble on an untried young coach,or perhaps go for an experienced manager ( Who has had the sack for failure in the past )

I will put Rob Page forward for a new contract, who do you want ?

Come on Mario, he's been a shocking manager. Terrible performances and tactics; the worst run of defeats since 1997; 11 defeats at home, including cups; 10 games without a win to go with the 6 games without a win that he had a little earlier on in the season. The list of awful stats is way, way too long.

There are plenty of managers out there that can improve on Pages' appalling season.......and yes..bar 6 games it's been a full season in charge.

In his defence he inherited a team left by Adams and we know what he's gone on to achieve, if I was to be critical it would be that he was given the job by Smurf because he could be "Managed"

I stand by what I think, give him a full season and then judge him, no interference on the playing side and his own signings, better the devil you know.

Mario....he's had a full season already! He's brought in way too many players that simply were not good enough to make the first 11. And, if he can't be man enough to handle a Chairman, then he has no business being a boss. He even listens to failed ex-managers that clearly do not have a clue.

If you can't deal with issues like these, how on earth can he command the respect he needs from players?

We need a MAN not a yes man to lead us away from the bottom 4, because trust me, that is where we will end up next season under Page, and that's making the BIG assumption that we will escape it this time.

Did he bring those players in though? I wonder, did he want to replace Innis but Smurf had a striker lined up instead, respect from his players ? I think last night showed they had respect.

Dont forget the players have dipped in form since the Chairman pulled the rug from under the contract talks, that must have affected morale.

Unless you have a name you think could do the job then I think we should sick with the devil we know

Mario....you are missing the point. As I previously stated, the team is his. He's been here all season long as 'boss' bar 6 games. And, like I have previously pointed out, if he can't handle or stand p to the Chairman then he has no business being a manager!

As the saying goes 'a poor workman blames the tools' (literally in some cases).

We could go on all night like this I dont think the team is his I think there are other influences at work, but as they say we will have to agree to disagree.

Yeah, don't get me wrong I'm not opening the champagne over it but we have moved up a bit. Don't think the squad is good enough whoever the manager is. Looking at the Tranmere situation I just wonder if Page has got a bit more out of the team than

Micky did - other managers may have done even better though....
