Barring Birchall and Duffy, I thought we played fairly well there last week! It was just Chris that sparked my anger off. I'm delighted Byron Moore is now getting a shot.

Can't disagree with any of that. I thought 3-1 flattered them and it would have been very interesting if one of those late off the line jobs had gone in.

If we were a little more clinical in front of goal I feel we may of got a similar result as a Sheff Utd got there on Saturday.

On the contrary. When I started the tread it was because I felt Page wasn't maximising the players he'd got and that he had us resembling the team managed by Dean Glover which we all remember so fondly. Cue we now have a decent Centre Back/no Duffy, Byron Moore in the side/no Birchall, and are playing 4-4-2 with two wingers and have a bit of pace and penetration about us to worry the opposition, rather than the rather turgid 4-5-1 with one winger and being slow and full of sideways passes and long balls. Et viola, we have two wins of which one was away, two clean sheets, and four goals scored and generally look a much better team.

So quite the contrary to having egg on my face as you imply G4E, it's a large amount of self-satisfaction I have and I'm sure at least 90% of regular match goers do too.

Even when we were winning games around the Xmas period it was obvious we would struggle at some point as the team was not set up correctly but had a large element of good fortune. I seem to remember Rochdale giving us problems but they had this 3 best attackers out and so had no cutting edge. Against Sheff Utd were we the beneficiaries of a generous sending off decision and a penalty. We benefitted from a sloppy back pass for the winner against Gillingham.

By the same token, we were unlucky not to win at Gills and Fleetwood, creating the better chances in both of those games.

Im not sure what point you're making. Mine is simply that Page finally seems to have recognised some of the areas that were concerning the majority of fans, partially addressed these, and the team looks a lot better for it. We may well lose 3-0 next week but I would prefer that when we've gone out having had a go at the opposition (I suppose much like Donny yesterday) than playing completely negatively, limping to a 1-0 defeat and then dressing it up as some sort of victory. (how many times have we heard the "if there's a way to lose a game of football...." Speech recently?)

I don't think we went at them yesterday. We played the same containing game with the wingers defending deep when needed. The only difference is we had a get out ball to Williamson in particular and Pope plus wingers with the pace to support. I don't know the stats but I don't think they will be showing we went at them. The difference to the games you mention Bidulph is that we won yesterday. I don't think the tactics were different.
