Premier League 14/15 (Not just Liverpool talk)

Big club but coping like a small club..so either insufficient funds being made avauilable to Rodgers or he's not spending it wisely

I believe the Dippers have a 'signing comittee '.Not sure how much say the Leprechaun has.Liverpool no longer have the spending power compared with Chelsea,Arsenal,United and City and Todgers ability to spot a player is questionable anyway. There is some talk that Pellegrini has his hands tied at City. The Puppet masters there are looking to build that club with young talent. No problem with that but it will take a while for it to come to fruition. In the meantime they need to buy in younger and better players than they currently have.3 horse race next season,Chelsea,Arsenal and United.

Why not actually make a post without the "Leprechaun" and "Todgers" nonsense. Not only does it make you sound like you're around 12 years old and your balls have yet to drop, but your also insulting a promising young manager that is making a name for himself and will no doubt achieve in his life more than you ever will.

That's my point re Liverpool..a club like Liverpool should be able to cope better with losing one its better players..it should have bertter 'replacements' than Balotellili and Lambert

"Small" clubs struggle when their best players are out..big clubs should have a good enough squad to keep the impact to a minimum..says a lot about the current state of Liverpool...which I find rather sad

You do realize that Lambert scored 15 goals in the Premier League for Southampton prior to joining Liverpool don't you? He's a proven goal-scorer in this country at every level. Rodgers wasn't to know that for whatever reason his move wasn't going to work out.

He, Lallana and Lovren all seemed liked good, sensible signings from Southampton in the summer.

As for the derby yesterday, it was a strange game in many ways. City started like a house on fire and looked like they could open United up whenever they really wanted to, and after getting the lead I expected them to put a few past United. But as soon as United equalize a lot of their players just didn't match the effort of their United counterparts and in the end were well beaten. City need a major clearout in the summer starting with the manager, who is in well over his head, and players like Clichy, Sagna, Fernando, Milner, Toure, Navas and Jovetic. They still have an outstanding spine in Hart, Kompany, Fernandhino, Silva and Augero, so with the right manager and the right players recruited in the summer they can well and truly come again.

United have got better as the season has gone on which was to be expected. Even Ashley Young is looking a player again. They're still cack at the back and rely on De Gea far too much, who will more than likely be gone in the summer, and won't win any of the big trophies until they have that area of the field sorted and also a replacement for Van Persie/Falcoa.

I also expect Toure to leave at end of season now..

His heart hasn't been in it at City for a while now. He's so lazy at times it's ridiculous. and seems to go missing a lot in the bigger games. Also, considering his age, if City can get 20 odd million for him they should take the money and run.

Beechy, you are politely requested to step back from making outrageous shameful personal remarks to other members - especially when directed to their kith and kin.

ps in case you need reminding - refer post 786 in this topic thread.

All that proves is that he was right for Southampton and not right for Liverpool so it was a mistake to sign him..whomever judged that he would be a good signing got it badly wrong. if it was as simple as choisinbga player who has scored a decent amount of goals and not having to think whether he'll fit the system/team/culture then choosing players would be easy peasy

Rodgers job is not to make what seem good, sensible signings but to actually make good, sensible signings. I can make what will seem good signings it's whether they turn out to be good signings or not that a manager is judged on. They have not worked so either bad choices or bad coaching since they joined
