Dead-end Streete?

Are we getting a bit carried away about this? He was part of a defence that was torn to ribbons on Saturday by MK Dons reserves. We've seen him play 2 and a half games, and suddenly he is irreplaceable?

That's what I don't get with some fans. Both he and Zubar looked promising but are apparently now massive losses and yet people who have made massive contributions to our recent success are scorned! Bizarre.

He is indeed their player, but he was on loan to us and they agreed to let him extend his loan deal, then just days later reneged on that...do you not see that that is morally wrong, at least? I find it hard to believe that a club the size of Newcastle has only the untried Remie Streete as defensive cover? It smacks of cynicism, and indecisiveness...and just plain old ****-taking!

What do you expect? He's their player and they needed cover. They didn't need cover when they agreed to the extension but two injuries to two centre halves mean they need cover whether he's inexperienced or not.

shlt, bad news

Sending Zubar back and keeping Robertson/Duffy was a bit of a **** up wasn't it

Totally agree!! It's easy to be wise after the event but he did OK in the matches he played and should have been retained. At least we're in for another goal fest on Saturday but at which end is anyone's guess!!

I never thought I'd see the day we were worried about playing Rochdale.

Rochdale, for ***** sake!

Isn't this something like only their second season outside the lowest division in their entire history?

I agree, they've had a good start but as you say it's Rochdale, let's get at them and give them a good hammering! Who knows this defensive problem could be a blessing as none of the partnerships so far have been exactly successful.

You know for a fact who is/was paying his salary do you ? Not relevant anyway, he was genuinely pleased to be here and playing, and had a good attitude before he got in the team. Now he is going to sit on the bench at best for that shower of primadonnas and their lacklustre yes-man-ager.

Vale didn't have a say in the agreement, it was sign it with a recall or not at all - don't you think they would have preferred no recall ?

Amazing how a few posters on this thread bend over backwards to speculate on others point of view and warm to it, even with no clear idea of the detail. Almost as if Newcastle were the priority and not Vale.

are you suggesting smurf signs contracts but doesnt know whats in them?... if he wasnt happy with the recall he shouldnt have signed it.

Do you imagine that a club trying to cut its wage bill, to the extent of offering its leading scorer a reduced contract, would be paying his salary?

Whether he sits on the bench or not is at the discretion of the club who agreed to pay his salary and sign his contract.
