Smurf disgusted with 'away only' Vale fans.

Entirely up to them.

The chairman is simply making his feelings known on the issue and it's understandable as a view point when someone like him who isn't a Vale fan is pumping in more than anyone has and potentially some Vale fans actually would rather financially support the opposition.

its still their choice

I love away days with mates, it's a great social catch up with the lads who you haven't seen for a while and a good day out seeing different towns and cities, even if the result away from home during the past 12 months rarely sees a victory for the 'Super Vale away'. I think I have been one of the fortunate few who have witnessed our last two away day wins - Walsall last December and Donny back in August.:D

However I have no plans to stop going on the Vale away days at all.

However, in my defence, I do live over 3 hours and some 180+ miles away from Stoke-On-Trent.

To repeat my earlier interpretation: Norman's response was aimed at someone saying they prefer to watch Vale play at Crewe rather than at Vale Park ergo an individual response and not a general one.

The thing is, Barry, he didn't have to say it and he's achieved absolutely nothing positive by doing so.

Norman needs to focus on encouraging people to come rather than disparaging those who don't.

nail on head.

if he feels that way - nobody can blame him. but he's thick for saying it, and really thick for wording it the way he did

I can't believe this is a common problem, if it is the question the club needs to ask these people is why they choose to do this and try and get them back to Vale Park.

Perhaps we should offer away match tickets in priority order of people who attend home games:

so season ticket holders get first up, then people who have attended more than half the home games, then people who have been the last home game and then finally any left go on general sale on a home matchday.
