Is anyone else feeling like me, that at the moment our squad is looking paper-thin both in terms of quality and particularly quantity? I fear a long and fraught season if MA cannot add to the squad soon!

Thin in terms of quantity but not quality. I think the signings we've made are better than those who've left but we are short on numbers. If the O'Connor deal is dead then so be it we move on to the next target.

Ah well. He certainly would have improved us but I would still be happy with Jennings and Guyonnet. Realistically, "little old Port Vale can't compete with these big clubs like Doncaster".

If we had offered what he wanted then he would have signed. He is worth it, at this level he is a quality player. But we have no budget left (that's why I say we offered peanuts). 73% before the 3 signings plus apparently Moore is on a hefty wage.

If we offered every player what they wanted they would sign. Although we wouldn't have a club left in 12 months time.

I see what your saying but in this particular case I think we should have gone for quality over quantity. I think we should have risked offering him what he wanted as midfield is a real key area and other than lines we have nothing. O'connor would have massively improved the side. As I say for me I would have got him in permanently and then looked into loan deals for strikers. Jennings and guyonnet then by looks of it.
