I can't justify Rooney and would start with Barkley..he gives us something different..a player who can actually run thru the middle withthe ball

Indeed. He might not have fulfilled the promise of being top 2 or 3 in the world, as was hoped when he stormed Euro 2004, but he's still England's 5th top goalscorer and closing in on those above him.

 

He is, and has been for 10 years, our main man, along with Gerrard, and any talk of leaving him out is sheer lunacy.

The Socceroos announce their 30 which they will trim to 27 then 23.

 

The big shock announced last week is no place for Lucas Neill because of his lack of form and fitness and their is a place for Bailey Wright who played against us for PNE.

 

Good to see there are places for 10 players currently playing in the national A League, I saw the Grand Final last week and the standard is definitely improving and I'm looking forward to watching my 'second team' for this WC against South Africa on the 26th May.

 

Still that said with the group they are in, they have about as much chance as us!! :D

I don't think your view represents the people who watch him week in / week out as my mate who is a City season ticket holder raves about his value to the team and his versatility. Maybe he could do a job as a defensive central midfielder as a wild card, thats where we will struggle.
