I actually forgot James Milner was going , woeful player pinching a living , yet Adam Johnson is over looked for him

 

Milner will be a key player in the World Cup. Can play a variety of positions and always gives a decent performance. Johnson has had what 4 good games this season. Not England quality.

Cant justify Rooney!!! when he is bad he is very bad but on his day he is our only potential world class player!

 

He's shown repeatedly in major tournaments that he just isn't up to the task. I've not seen him put in a world class performance for a looooong time.

 

I can't justify putting him in in place of those I have chosen..they might not be as good at their best as he is at his best but they are more consistant and I feel will do more for the team.

Indeed. he's still England's 5th top goalscorer and closing in on those above him.

 

His goals record against the best opposition is abysmal..as proven by his record in major tournaments..since 4 goals at Euro 2004 (2 against the mighty Swiss) no WC goals in 8 finals matches for example. Most of his goals are in qualifiers and friendlies so him being 5th top don't mean nothing..it's his record in finals that matters and it's awful.

Milner does a job..he's one of very few in the squad who can actually cross the ball and whomever is behind him (probably Johnson) he helps him to play well

I haven't read everything on here but my word Spain still has a fantastic squad of players. They might be ageing now but what quality!
