You have to be a little bit wary of players who offer themselves up or get touted by their agents at this time of year.

 

Back in 2007 we got all our business done very early in the summer and ended up with rubbish like Rocastle, Tudor, Edwards and Miller. I think a fair few of those were represented by Melzack. .

 

They have to be the right players, and their wages have to be affordable. They should fit into a wider player recruitment strategy.

Peter Clarke, Anthony Gardner, Martin Paterson??? Dreaming!!!!! With only 2,800 season tickets sold we'll be lucky out a competitive squad together next year.

All players I mention have lived in this area and play in the championship and are out of contract, they have to consider that at their age they may have to take a cut in salary plus they may want to move back towards home. As stated in the sentinel article. I threw names our there and suddenly we a're dreaming?

Would we be dreaming if we said Birmingham will be playing us next season? You would have said so last year. Anything can happen in football.

Whether its money, budget to be able to be a success or stability in the boardroom after all the upheaval he has had to deal with its the right thing to do and to be fair Smurthwaite has said all along that he wants Adams to be happy with the budget.
