28th January 2014, Port Vale v Crawley Town, Pre Match, Match Postponed.

Robbie Earle's Perm

loft could be carrying a injury but still willing to play when is lines going to start putting tackles in always seems to run away from players when they have the ball also ducted under a header then had ago at the vale player behind him for not keeping it in.

I think Yates must have shouted for him to leave it but then couldn't control the ball...

Are you for real?

Loft has been and still is one of our best players at the club, always giving everything, even when not fully fit.

Take him out from alongside Lines and we are in real trouble.

Better go to specsavers, Sam:laugh:

I never said that wasn't true did I? He IS one of our best players undoubtedly. But he's in poor form for Doug Loft, his passing has been wayward and he looks a little weary. He also hasn't tracked back as much as he usually does. And I know for a fact i'm not the only person who has noticed this. 99/100 times he would be my first name on the teamsheet.

I think if they're supplying you with those heavily rose tinted glasses I will probably give Specsavers a miss, cheers for the recommendation though.

Can't see much less than a Vale win in this one.

I truly hope you are right.

You might like to look at Crawley's recent away form, with a win at Orient followed by draws at Coventry and Rotherham (who only equalised in the 96th minute). Plus a new manager and useful looking signings - so if Vale do win it will not be a routine achievement but a superb victory.

The bookmakers are making Crawley favourites too - a bit strange for an away team 8 points below us.

Having said all that, if we can cut out the defensive lapses, a 2-1 win in a good game with a smallish gate of about 4700 is my prediction - but it won't be easy !

Was about to post the same thing VS,

Crowley are a good side in good form very nearly doing us a big favour today with Roverm only getting a draw in the last minute.

New York stadium pitch won't have been anywhere near as draining on the legs as CO today.

My worry of playing Hugill and Williamson together is that neither of them have shown any ability of winning headers and holding the ball up coming out of defence. The pair of them contributed nothing today.

You don't like Hugill do you? Has he ran your cat over or something?

Knott should play on the basis that he shouldnt have been signed if he isnt better than Griff.

Or maybe he's signed him as he's offers something different from the other midfielders we have. After Saturday the only reasons to drop Griffith is if he's injured, he did pull up towards the end, he's knackered or if we expect it to be a walk in the park and we won't need to protect our back 4.

This is far from an easy game with Crawley in drastically better form than when we played them last and came away with a surprisingly comprehensive away victory.

Theres definately cause to freshen things up following Saturdays energy sapping surface. It would be good to see Knott play.

They were in great form last time we played them, better than their current form.

They went in a bad run after we beat them.
