Sorry but ***** draw - simple as.

Plymouth don't travel in numbers at the best of times but they're not going to be jumping with excitement about a draw 250 miles away against us. Plus Sjoke at home means we'll be lucky to play on the Saturday. Utter crud number 47.

Banana skin potential - not fkin happy :ninja:

If you can't pull the big one then it has to be progression you look at. At home to a League Two side. Let's get it won and bank the cash. Our time will come for that big tie!

5th Jan 2012 Vale 4 Plymouth 0 L2. So we can do it !

Best and most sensible post about the draw.

The chances of getting an Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Spurs etc are very small, and the chances of a Championship club or lower away are really high, so if it aint a biggie, then a home tie is what is wanted,

Even then, a home tie against more than decent but not massively supported clubs like Yeovil, Barnsley, derby, peterboro, Orient......well, all of those and a dozen more are not good.

Equally, a non-league side at this stage when they have smelt blood and dealt it out (Macc best Swindon 4-0 remember and Kiddieminster thrashed league 2 Newport - not really good, as the non-leaguers left would be far better than Shortwood or Salisbury, with all due respect to those two,

So a mid-table L2 side with good support for their division, who will probably bring 1500-2000 fans is pretty good. Best chance we have had of the 4th round for 10 years or so, and if we have to wait a bit longer for that trip to Old Trafford that is ok as long as the prize money keeps rolling in,

One last point - we are doing quite nicely in the league, and if we had got Arsenal, Chelsea, Stoke or a Manchester giant, I could see the distraction factor coming into play - there are tricky games after Boxing Day against Rotherham and Preston and it is only human nature to think about a big cuptie first. We need to keep up a challenge in L2 for gates to hold up at home in January and February and March.

The more I think about it, the more I am pleased with this draw, bring it on - Vale for the 4th round at least !

Plymouth don't travel in numbers????

What you on about. Plymouth have one of the best fans in league two and probably league one.

Good draw to progress.

Lets hope we keep getting teams lower than us.

If we keep winning we will draw a big team eventually.

Come on Vale. 4th round here we come

Totally correct, Plymouth will bring numbers, provided it's not a Friday night I expect them to bring 1,000.......Oh, and if we couldn't get chuffing Stoke or a TOP premier club, we couldn't ask for a better chance to get to round 4!?.... ;)

At home.

Lower division opposition.

Winnable game.

Opportunity to make prize money.

Opportunity to get through and pull out a big side in a subsequent round.

Why is it a bad draw? Was it a bad draw when we got Macc Town at home in the 3rd Round in 1988?
