The First Division looks stronger this time around and well above League 2. Every game is hard and the playing standard high and entertaining. Mistakes still play a significant part in results and need to be kept to a minimum. I feel if we can keep a run going for a few games we will be heading up towards 20 - 25 points and then we can see the safety line a lot more clearly and consider if we can sustain being say a top 10 team.

I really dont know what team to pick for this one. Jones will probably be back fit but i just cant see where he will fit in as i thought the back four were superb yesterday! Usually it would be Chilvers but i thought he was a contender for man of the match with Griff and Lines. So i think id just go with the same team and see what happens. Can always change it early on if we need to.

I feel we have brought Jones back too early with a couple of previous injuries usually resulting in him breaking down again within a few games. Keep the same team/squad and give him time to fully recover and get back to full fitness.

For those who appear to have been watching Vale for only a couple of years. Two home games together generally brings 1 point.

I really fancy us to beat a winless [?], Brizzle and to get a hard earned point v's the free scoring Peterboro'......

That would then set us up PERFECTLY for the Blunts, most of who are suicidal here at the minute by the ways!...:yes:

I'll speak to my Dad at some point during the week on the phone. He used to go the games with me when I was a kid but he's drifted away from football these days.

He'll ask me who we're playing on Saturday. I'll reply "Bristol City".

He'll ask me how they've been doing this season. I'll say "they haven't won a game yet this season, Dad".

He'll then say something like "****** hell - you know what that means, don't you? Typical ****** Vale".

I really, really, really hope we don't lose on Saturday but I've watched Vale for long enough to know it's an accident waiting to happen.

It seems likely that Dickinson will soon get a one match suspension for 5 yellow cards - then we can bring in Jones if he is fully fit.

It is important that we maintain a winning team for as long as possible and make as few changes as necessary. Others must wait for their chance and then show they are worthy of keeping that place.
