Is the 60% wages cap purely football players and management or is it the total wage bill of the football club?
League rules for L1 and L2 quote " Total player wages as a proportion of turnover" The % can vary, thus is not part of the statement.

Let's get this straight. I am not against progress, just wonder if we should have let the buzz of promotion encourage a few of the new supporters to come again before we introduced artificial barriers to attendance with a poorly tested system.
But as has been said they bought tickets for Burton, Cobblers etc. Nobody likes change, but the start of a new season is as good as any, Ticketmaster have not helped. We may well have our biggest gate of the season this month too, thus a real test of the system, not long to get it right.

Thanks Fosse.

I believe we haven't given up on Doumbe yet.

On Friday Smurf said if clubs have gone over the 60% they can still sign a player until your income increases but cant register him to play,he then said that would mean paying a player for not playing which would be stupid,it does seem odd that Doumbe hasn't been on trial or linked with anyone since playing our friendlies.

As far as I'm concerned, a cashless system is the way forward. Loads of clubs are heading that way - I suspect we will pay on the gate at very few away games this season. Whether the club got the best deal it could have done in achieving this is a moot point - there are alternatives to Ticketmaster - but continually whinging on about the inevitable is daft as far as I'm concerned. If we have ambitions to progress as a club, staying in the 19th century is not an option. We've had loads of folk on here complaining in the past about the difficulty of getting tickets for certain games when they live away from the area - now the club has introduced a system which will clearly help deal with this problem, we have folk complaining it's not fair. Whatever the club does, we will have folk whingeing about it. That, I'm afraid, is a Potteries trait and it is not a very attractive one.

How is this system helping people who live far away?

Travelling 200 miles and turning up at 14:40 on a match day is an unacceptable thing to do according to the majority.

Today was all ticket - you couldn't pay cash on the turnstiles and the tickets were available for some days before the game. This was just the same situation as Northampton and Burton.

The problem at Vale at the moment is that we are having to be dragged from the 19th century into the 21st all in one go.

No it wasnt, the away end could still pay cash.

Jeez...for a couple of matches (hopefully) people who live far away are being inconvenienced somewhat. Once the online system is up and running things for many who live far away will improve beyond recognition.

Yes it should have all been sorted before now but it isn't and the club should be saying exactly when it will be sorted but they aren't...people are just going to have to live with it for a while
