I agree with Tim, came back to preseason looking unfit and out of shape. Looks like he could be a good player but we can't gamble on him given the fact we have a good forward line anyway. His first touch against Norton was awful and was breathing through his backside after 15mins, scored two good goals and looked a force, pity really but in micky we trust

I wouldn't like to say but if he's been training over the summer and before and that's the best he could manage then he needs to worry. I'm gutted he's not signing for You it has to be said! ;)

Purely guessing but maybe Adams was only prepared to offer a 6mth deal when he wanted a couple of years(imo Adams would be nuts to offer a 2yr deal until he had proved his fitness,if someone else wants take that gamble then it's upto them).

 

Also it could be that he came in overweight(which we know Adams hates) and MA thought he should of been fitter having trained for the past couple of months at the club.All speculation I guess.

I spoke to Liam with PeteT a couple of weeks ago he was a very nice bloke and he was not grossly overweight....He was hoping for a contract and he was prepared to work for one, he liked our set-up and facilities etc. And he was very grateful to the Club for allowing to use our facilities over the Summer after 16 months out of the game with injury.......Typical comments on here from the usual crowd including a 'Stokie'.

 

IMHO were he went wrong was when his passport problems occured at Manchester Airport he should have changed his flight from Ryanair to Aer Lingus who do NOT require passport identification OR drove to Holyhead and caught the Ferry and joined the Squad.......Maybe him not showing effort on his part was the reason Vale got rid.......

He looked a good stone and a half overweight, look at his face now and back in the day to see the difference if You don't think he's overweight. He had the touch of an elephant and moved like one too. I know he's been injured for an age but if that's what he looks like after a month or two of training then he needs until Christmas of proper hard work to get back to anywhere full fitness. Which could be tough because if his movement isn't great then he will find it hard to get fit. He even looked like he might have done his groin in that friendly after a little jog. You've dodged a massive bullet, a bullet You don't need in the first place. Be happy.

 

And the passport thing is Vale just being nice surely?

Totally agree too many fans on here talking of Dickinson like he is van persie for the last twelve months we don't need him.

Not needed at all, pope, hughes, tomlin and williamson are a fantastic four to have and dodds offers versatility to the front line aswell. Dickinson would have been wasted money. Looking forward to seeing how we beef up our defence!
