Glad Dickinson has gone he was never going to make. What a signing koumas would be for tranmere. Missed the boat on that one.

Jason Koumas is training with Tranmere, boss Ronnie Moore has confirmed.

The Wales international midfielder began his career at Prenton Park before going on to play for the likes of West Brom, Cardiff and Wigan.

But the 33-year-old has been without a club since his last professional appearance for Cardiff in their play-off semi-final defeat to Reading in May 2011.

Moore confirmed on Tuesday that Koumas' love for the game has been rekindled and he will be assessed in the coming weeks.

"We got a phone call from his agent asking if we'd have a look at him," Moore told the club's official website. "He fell out of love with the game, but he's back in love with it and he wants to come back.

"We said to bring him in and we've got sports science guys working with us now who will monitor his fitness.

"In two or three weeks time when he's fit and can play then who knows what might happen, but at the present time he's here to train and we'll have a look at him.

"It was supposed to be top secret, but nothing lasts too long."

I suppose Tranmere will be paying koumas wages to his bookmakers direct as his other clubs did, I liken it to signing Merson

He's 33 and not played a game for 2 years. No thanks.

I personally think letting dicko go like this is a mistake. he showed glimpses of what he was capable of at the Norton game, and before anyone says hes a risk, yes I realise he would be a risk but worth taking IMO. lets face it, we took a big risk with calvin Andrew he disappointed, whereas Dickinson had a career threatening injury hes been fighting back from for the last 18 months. he should have been given more time to get fit anyone who still has their doubts, go on youtube and look at him in action.

Don't worry about Tranmere. The way they're going about preseason they don't need Koumas. Lowe has been immense and Sodje has slotted right in. I predict playoffs for them.

Bell-Baggie is just Baggie now too, dropped Bell for "family reasons"

Dickinson limped off after 20 mins for Northampton today. Ankle injury.

He was hobbling at 'castle, then he guested for stockport, his ankle aint healed properly yet, micky said that he was still having problems, he could probably play non-league with it strapped up but it'll be 12 months before he's fully fit .
