same sex adoption

Both my parents are still alive and amazingly still together.... my father has vascular dementia and has the memory span of a goldfish... my mother has Alzheimers... they spend their days arguing about a past he cant remember which she still does vividly ... sad really.

Dad died in 1987 and Mum died 2011 after suffering dementia (amongst other things) for about 4 years. Sadly she reached the stage where she went thru long periods of not knowing any of us or at times seming to regress back 10,20,30 years...really I lost my Mum as i knew her in about 2006

I was a very lucky boy and a lucky man to have had them in my life and to still have their influence and memories of them

Personality and character oversee both private and professional lives.

So give a reference to the reports, they must have been published so an abstract at least should reside on the internet.

Have a look yourself if you're so interested. There's stacks of stuff online. I do know what I'm talking about, you know.

It's relevant though as sonme would 'seem' to be suggesting that it would be better for kids to remain in a home than be adopted by a same sex couple

Perhaps if they knew how awful a kids home is or can be they might, just might take a different view..so I welcome comments from those that have some first hand experience of kids homes

Ironically, I don't think children's homes, generally, are that bad. The decent ones provide warm caring havens for the abused and neglected. I just think that there is a fundamental flaw with state parenting.

Same sex adoption, irrespective of wider discussion of its merits, is much more preferable to the abortion of unborn children which is a disgraceful waste of life in the UK.

People should just stop having so many kids. There are way too many people already.

And the winner of the straw man argument of the day is...

... Warren. Congratulations.

Undoubtedly as things are now we have too many people in the world, but population control won't solve the problem

I think better organisation and managment of resources coupled with scientific/technological advances would mean that we could cope with current and growing populations if we really wanted to

Too many (and I should include myself in this) are not prepared to see their standard of living drop to allow better and more even distribution of resources plus big business won't invest in those in need unless they see a reasonable return on their investment..we need to strike a better balance.

Allowing same sex adoption whilst it won't reduce population does take some strain off social services and allow resources to be focussed on those kids who for whatever reason don't get adopted
