not my comment ,i have no comment other than revulsion, just a sentence plucked off another forum, not funny just an extreme comment, a common sense post gets little attention so i posted some offal, don't take it to heart, you'll get over it.

Not in denial, just balanced and rational person who lives in a diverse city. I live in London where I mix with all sorts of people, my kids mix with all sorts (my son today being given his red belt in Karate by a Muslim teacher) and myself and wife work and socialise with all nationalities, cultures and religions and never come across any hostilities.

 

If you have listened to any of the footage on the BBC (Radio, Newsnight, Breakfast etc) rather than the over sensationalist ITV and Sky there has been utter condemnation from all quarters of the Muslim community in this country, including normal Muslims who were at the scene yesterday trying to calm things down.

 

All true but you also have to accept that those muslims who share their views becasue of their warped version of Islam will not be condemning them...quite the opposite in fact

 

Just as there will be some non-Muslims who will not condemn what happened

I encountered hostile Catholics, Muslims, atheists, vegetarians, anti-capitalist protesters, pro-lifers etc during my 14 years in London..but they weren't necessarily likle that becasue of their beliefs..well maybe the anti-capitalists were.

Never encountered a hostile Socialist....I don't mix with that sort ;)

 

Plenty of hostile right wingers and some communists, there was this Sikh fellah who was a right stroppy so and so, plenty of hostile northerners (mainly Scousers), a Welsh bloke who was always looking for a fight, some very aggressive East European chaps who tried to mug me on the tube and a lady form Leicester who I worked with who was 30 years older than me and 'took a shine' to me...she was very hostile but could get hold of some nice cheese and pork pies so she was worth it

 

But I met lots of nice people too

It may well be true that many Muslims identify with being a Muslim more than with the country of their birth, be it the UK or Where ever.

I do wonder if within each community we have some nut cases, who just need a trigger to allow them to go crazy, whether its religion for some, of conspiracy theories about governments for right wing extremists.

To be honest, I think all religion is outdated and has the potential for such atrocities. Sharia law is awful just as the bible allows you to have slaves and stone and abuse women. Thankfully we live in a secular society where rule of law trumps religion. One of the reasons why I appreciate where we live and can't stand people using this to bang on about broken Britain.

Sharia law is practiced by many people and societies and there are many who would like to see it more widely implemented.

Why don't those who despise the western world and everything it stands for go & live in a suitable country that meets their religious & political criteria instead of staying here murdering, brainwashing,& trying to spread & inflict hatred up the countries that allow them freedom of speech & the right to peaceful protest ?.

If you deny that Islamic scripture does not promote violence and segregation then you are in denial. It's no different than trying to say that Vale finished bottom of the league 2 this season despite it clearly saying different in black and white.

 

Forgetting all of the nice Muslims you know, as it's not relevant to the question, are you honestly saying that Islamic scriptures do not promote violence? Please answer!

 

As an aside, you are also defending a ideology with strongly contradicts you avatar by the way!
