Now lets talk cost effective

You do the maths makes no difference the attendance v accrington included season tickets so unless a thousand chose not to turn up on Saturday and turned up tonight. Suggest not much difference if you have a season ticket you generally turn up. I gave it a 20 pound bench mark assuming season tickets would be level against sat. I bet that has already gone well over your head. Either way pal .

You have five sweets but you have six friends

I truly give up

Ten pounds in forever

Can I just say that tonight I went with 4 people that don't usually go and they all paid £11 to sit in Lorne St. Stick that in your equation.

I went to my 2nd home game in about 8 years last night. Used to be a season ticket holder years ago, before I moved out of the area, have only been to the odd away game in the past few years. Moved back to the area late last year, but hadn't been to a Vale game since coming back because I don't think £20 for 2nd division football is good value for money. Had a great time last night, prob won't go many games the rest of the season since I'm still not happy to pay £20, but on the basis of enjoying last night i'll get a season ticket next season if it's priced in the region of £12-£14 per match. I'll probably persuade my old man to get one as well, so don't forget to add the price of 2 season tickets for next season into your equation of cost effectiveness!

Been selfish and honest but I hope they don't drop price again this season, the carrot as been dangled and a few have bit and will come along again, unlike some I believe we ain't got millions to spend and we need every £ for next seasons push to the promised land, folk will get there bargains if they buy a season ticket

If one person is converted to supporting Vale for the rest of their life, say 40 years, that will generate about £12,000 in present value to the club. 10 supporters = £120,000. Financial logic says, that if only those 10 people had turned up to the match, it would have paid off!!

Leave each to concentrate on their own expertise- Smurf for finance, Adams for football, the message board posters for moaning.

Business and simple mathematics clap trap. Get a calculator and work out gross profit tonight v accrington game. It is acceptable to you because you think that the offers will sustain our payroll budget. Answer 10 quid will get you non league or below.

I think it's you who needs to do the maths !!!!! Not only did you miss off season tix, but you also forgot to factor in concessions ... Try again

Hurray, someone with a bit of reasoned logic! We need to get bums on seats and if by offering cheap admission now and then is the way then great. If we only get a few people to come and enjoy the game they will be back and Vale have to grab each and every fan we can to ensure they do come back, even if it's only for the odd game or two. I am a season ticket holder but I welcome any initiative the new owners have to try and attract floating fans back to the Academy of Footie....Vale Park.

You say that there were 395 more than Saturday, have you ever thought that as well as those 395 there were actually a lot more people who turned up last night who were not there on Saturday, there must be loads like me, as I was there saturday but could not make it last night as I work in Brum and could not get back in time..

There could well have been 1000 extra/different fans which means as they saw a good performance from the team and hopefully a great dealk of the 1000 extra fans I would hope would come back and pay full price on a Saturday having got the buzz for it.

I think the owners are taking a hit on games like these where they reduce the costs to try and entice the stay aways, or new fans into the ground get them buzzing about the game and try and get them to come back to experience the whole thing again.

I think it was a wise move to do this against a team that we were expected to beat to make sure that the "new" fans saw us win and win well, which will hopefully get them to come back.

hope that makes sense!!
