Now lets talk cost effective

Recommended Posts

So if £10 buys cack football what does £11 [sT] buy?... division 1 football?..... so lets all pay £11.... or make the next offer £11 instead of £10.

I doubt the offer was about making money but about getting [missing] fans to turn up on a regular basis in the future.... its one of the few ways to get the product seen.

Business and simple mathematics clap trap. Get a calculator and work out gross profit tonight v accrington game. It is acceptable to you because you think that the offers will sustain our payroll budget. Answer 10 quid will get you non league or below.

Let the guys running the club who will have the full breakdown sort it out.

here we go the usual "offers dont work" claptrap. This offer, although very generous, had zero promotion and as such many people knew nothing of it.

That is why the club is advertising for social media manager to get the vale message out there and get more people down to Vale Park

I was pleased with the attendance tonight, it was most certainly a 1,000 up on what it would have been at the normal price, I brought my brother in law and nephew with me tonight, they enjoyed the game and would like to come back again (looking at the last home game of the season) but the ONLY reason they came tonight was the price and when they come back (for the promotion party) along with my sister and niece they will be paying full price, these OCCASIONAL promotions can only do good.....

Game v accrington assuming £20 admission at 5172 crowd generated £103, 440

Game v Wimbledon 5560 well done to the 395 new friends and welcome but generated £55,670 in cash

Do you want to feel as you do tonight and pay £20 or survive mid table and pay a tenner

I fully appreciate circumstances but that's life. We are currently league one marks and Spencer's if you want pound land pay a tenner.

A tenner as I have always said generates nowt we have lost money tonight if only 2900 hundred had turned up we would have made more .

Keep it consistent 20 pound in

with maths like that you're ever likely to be skint, lol:razz:

Total simplification of a complex situation - not only do season tickets have to come off, but you would need to know how many of the season ticket holders attended each game. The thing that matters is how many came tonight at £10 that wouldn't have come at £20, and how many of that number might be tempted to return.

For the little it is worth, Id guess (and it really is a set of guesses that -

Of the 5172 at the Accy game, maybe 2,000 paid (even then, not all at £20, some kids, and other concessions) giving a possible income of £25,000 or so.

If the game tonight had been at £20, perhaps the gate would have been about 4400 of which about 1500 would have paid giving a potential income of £18,000 approx. This asssumes 2900 season ticket attendees.

So lets assume that of the 5500 or so attending tonight included 2900 season ticket attendees again, which means 2600 paid and we can guess that reducing for concessions might have meant this generated something like £16500.

Therefore, Vale lost barely a couple of thousand pounds on the deal, and a relatively large number of fans witnessed a superb win and saw them open up a lead at the top.

To me that sounds like a RESOUNDING SUCCESS Well done, new owners.

I bought a pie too for my tea, was going to get another at HT but decided to get a coffee instead.
