MA must be incorrect when he states we play with 2 wingers. Because if they don't cross the ball they're not wingers, they're wide midfielders who keep cutting into the middle of the park.

To be fair, I have been thinking that its rare that the wingers send a good cross from out wide. I wonder if that is why adams often plays them on the opposite side to their preffered foot, as they are more effect causing mayhem and working it in from a more central position. If out wide it often gets pulled back to a fullback or midfielder. Not saying its not effective, but he did have a point. Their crossing is the one area I would like to see more of from them.

That was the point I was trying to make. We play to our/Pope's strengths. During a match Pope can be a target man or centre forward. Our wingers are not like a Ainsworth or Guppy as in "out & out" wingers but nor are they like Rogier Koordes or Andy Porter when they played wide midfield. MA states we play with wingers who like to get forward, However Mr Newton thinks that our wingers cut in and shoot. How Pope has managed to score 26 goals with the formation as described by Bobby Newton............... heaven knows.

I never said that the wingers crossed the ball for Pope to score. I said that they crossed the ball for Pope to get onto the end of. Bobby needs to read accurately before he replies.

Not sure if we have scored from wingers crossing since Exeter away myrie Williams put first one over for popes header and then vincent crossed for the 2nd if I'm correct.

 

Maybe Vincent crossed for popes header against Bristol rovers?

We may have scored from them since ant but I'm not sure.

 

Maybe Bristol rovers at home, didn't pope get an header first half? Possibly a Vincent cross?.

Pope is the best header of a ball that I've seen for a log time!! I can't say it has always been the case but most of the headed goals I've seen him put in are from crosses off the full backs. Jmw and Vincent need to be less greedy...... But hey I'm not moaning at all :)

 

I'm going for a log time in a minute. Now I've got an IPad I don't even need to go offline for a bit. :)
