Does anybody know if there is any truth to this?

As you say, unless we are talking of stupid money (both in transfer fee and wages, etc for player), it won't happen.

For his value to the team, the impact his goals will have towards promotion this season and the fact that we would have to replace him the fee would have to be an absolute minimum of £500,000. With the likes of some players that have been sold when plying the majority of their trade in non-league even that would be a snip.

 

If any offer that comes in is based on his lack of goals in previous seasons then they may aswell not bother. We don't need to sell and promotion is of more value in the long term than a miniscule fee....I can't even imagine that Pope's wages are too much of a drain on our finances either.

Have you seen how much sky are paying for being in the premiership next season !!!! It's stupid amount.

I suppose Millwall will promise the earth, with the chance to play in the Prem next season, but only a chance of the POs really. After another good season in L1 next year, then he would be under pressure.

He's scoring goals that very few other players are capable of scoring on a regular basis and has a pretty good assist rate.

The only centre half I've seen cope with him is Zander Diamond of Burton.
