Williamson had just started scoring regularly and goals/minutes played is good this season. Something went wrong and as I don't know what I can't comment on it, but it seems he is in the doghouse for the time being - let's not apportion blame or take sideas as to why without knowing the facts.

I trust MA as manager, and hope this can be sorted out as Williamson can and does score goals and Dodds hasn't for a while. That's not to say that starting with Dodds and then Williamson coming on after an hour is not a good option against certain opponents, but I hope BW gets a more extended series of starts later in the season as he has it in him to be a 15 to 20 goal striker if he played 40 or more games in a season.

Dodds clearly for me, I like Ben and did so as soon as I first saw him, he's young, learning well and has an eye for goal but I think he's a little short on ewperience as yet. Yes, of course he won't gain experience if he's not playing, but I think there's plenty of scope for him to make his mark from the subs bench, whilst learning his trade - it's a pity Foyley isn't here to coach him (in my opinion).

Anyway out of the options i've gone for Calvin Andrew.

 

He's got his chance to prove himself now before his contract ends in Jan or his league football career may well be over.

MA needs to use his squad as he sees fit. It's obvious that teams have sussed us and are combating our strengths. It seems we have become predictable. Dodds & BW are totally different and both have something to offer the team. If a defence are slow I would use BW because of his natural pace, If they are tall and have ability in the air against big men I would use Dodds because he plays off people and has the knack of getting behind defenders. You cannot play just one of them with Pope and stick with him.

 

It's a squad that gets promotion, not a team of 11 players.............. Fact!

It's a toss up between Dodds and Williamson. He's had a couple of half attempts with Vincent, but he's too lightweight.

I'm not defending Andrews here, I have yet to see enough of him to judge, but had Pope left at the end of last season having scored a mere 5 goals all season ask yourself if you would have been too upset?

Horses for courses between Dodds and Williamson at present. I think Andrew is an emergency replacement only between now and January, doesn't look like he can play with Pope.

His all round game was good. He could stand up. Neither can be said of Andrew.

 

I'm not saying Andrew had a decent game, but it's hard to judge when he's playing alongside Pope who is the same kind of striker. I'm not going to take too much information away about Andrew after that game, Alongside Pope he didn't play particularly well but then again neither did Pope really...
