Sam Morsy

Spunk Trumpet

Recommended Posts

I got slated on here a while back for stating that Morsy had more potential than Roberts, now one is being watched by championship/div 1 clubs and the other is in the conference. There is loads more improving to come from Morsy as he gains experience and I just hope he continues to improve with us and that we don`t let him go on the cheap. He will make mistakes as he is always available for the ball and doesn`t hide, but at times this season he has looked the complete midfielder.

Roberts was always wanted by different clubs.... He's only in the conference because if his drinking problems take that away and he's a far better player than morsy.

To be honest I'm surprised there is interest in him, he's been poor till this season where he has been very good and much improved but I don't see him as being able to player at a higher level for a while, he's still learning and as mentioned earlier he needs a good old head next to him. Come on leaps and bounds from last year though.

Please explain why he is not ?

Because one has a number of season as a starting 11 player, been part of a promotion side (and captained that side) and just made his premiership debut, and the other just won his place back in the starting 11 in a league 2 side I suppose.

Ability wise Roberts was and is able to play in the championship (and eventually beyond if he looked after himself). Its because he is a ****head that he is in the conference. Roberts at his best, and morsey at his best...there is no comparison. Roberts is just a massively wasted talent.

Roberts is just a massively wasted talent. .........

Not only that but a waste of time of all the people who tried to help him along the way.

Sometimes people should just grow up and start earning a living. God help Roberts kids if he ever has any. Fancy knowing yer dad could have , but CHOSE to be an alchy **** head..... Not a wasted talent just a waste.

G4E Morse had a poor game against Daggers and a very good game yesterday, but isnt that to be expected from a young man learning his trade?

My only disappointment with him yesterday is that he was good enough to make two runs that put him clear of their defence but he then chose the wrong options and failed to score.

Sam reminds me of a young Ian Bogie and needs to build on the progress that he has already made .He has the potential to go on and play at a higher level and earn a good living out of the game ,albeit he must keep level headed and listen to Micky and the older players at the club.

Bails - why do you think he isn't like a young Ian Bogie? - seems a fair comparison to me.

Maybe my memory is a little more hazy than some of you old farts :D But I always remember Bogie as being a much more influential, creative player than Morsy! He has a looooooooooooooonnggg way to go before comparisons of that nature deserve to be made. I'd say he has the potential to be more of an Andy Porter type player if I'm being honest. Bogie was class, through and through. Morsy is rugged. I knw he's young and a lot to learn, but to compare him to Bogie is a bit extremem....

Bogie had a far better team to make him shine too:yes:I agree that he was a class act. Sam has made great progress and I wasn't a fan of him initially, but he certainly has the ability now to go on to further his career.Maybe another one he could be compared to is Paul Kerr, again from that golden era!
