Firstly why was that game p.p was it danger too life ,because of high winds, or waterlogged (well it didnt rain for 8 hrs surely you get a brush and brush all excess water off the pitch .

Admittedly it threw it down night prior but we should have got the game played .

Or do we have a big problem in dressing room with players who want too be off and the club thought damn we cannot play this game the fans are going be furious once again (no inside info on that just all reading between the lines and coming up with my conclusion ).

So 19.00 next tues thats not a bad time for me ,who starts at 22.00  for most though its awful start time .

On subject of Vale id love too see our overall stats in league one at home ,for last 6 campaigns im guessing ive seen no more than 12 win in 23 x 6 games .

The joys of league 1 and Vale treating it like they have moved up too prem league when most sides are much ado about nothing

UTV

It was a danger to life because most fans had lost the will to live.

I think last year we had a couple of spells of really heavy rain and the pitch drained really quickly. I know its hard to get a 100% comparison, but to me the pitch hasn't looked good for a few months now.

I’m sure I read that this January is on course to be one of the wettest.  I could be wrong.

Possibly, but why are no other games being called off?  I feel something has gone wrong with the drainage system and the contractors who installed it need to be brought in to see what is wrong.

What’s that got to do with January?

We might be happy to have these games called off.  Another week working with the players.  More time to add recruits.  Who knows.

Well, if we are on course for the wettest January we might be on course for the wettest Febuary as well judging by the first few days of the month.

I think something has definitely gone wrong with the drainage system @mbycars as the pitch hasn't looked in very good condition for a number of weeks now.

Yes the pitch has looked very short of grass in places since the beginning of October.

Well that's the other scenario Ray. Are we overwatering the pitch purposely to give the new manager time to get in new players and work more with his current squad?

I know they are not doing things to wind supporters up but it feels that every decision they are making at present is wrong and doing it to annoy us.  We had Moore left in charge for way too long to ruing any chances we had of surviving.  We have stands been closed for FA Cup matches to save very limited amount of money, we now have a pitch that can't sustain any prolonged spell of rain, absoutely embarassing to be the only league 1 game off again when so much has been spent on improving this.  We then rearrange the game for next week, I understand we had to arrange quickly because of all the fixtures we have in the next 2 months but why 7.00pm.  Most people will tend to finish at 5,00pm, by the time they have got home, they will literally be heading straight out, no time for tea or anything like that.  I can't see any statement to announce why they have changed the time of a kick-off, everyone knows league games are 7.45 or 8.00pm.  There is going to be lots who won't make 7.00pm and won't make the effort as very little effort being given by players.

Last train to London ?

Speaking from an engineering perspective, Vales drainage may well be influenced by capacity of the local public surface water drainage system and limits upon what they can discharge into the public sewer system. It is common these days for surface water collected from large areas to be temporarily stored in "crates" beneath the ground which slowly discharge into the local sewers (to minimise flooding). Discharge is controlled by the diameter of the drainage pipe from storage to sewer. Given the amount of rainfall we have had in january its likely that Vales storage capacity is at max and they are unable to discharge any quicker.

I think the drains mirror our goalscoring exploits!
