Match Thread - Mansfield Town v Port Vale

Featured Replies

I too saw the video of Brady going to the fans with one guy having his head in his hands. Getting Brady has given some false hope, I think he is a down to earth manager who'll be good for us, but we aren't getting out of this mess so soon, stats say we are 90% sure to go down, personally I've accepted this and don't get mad or angry when we inevitably lose. I also don't expect an immediate return to league one next season, having supported the Vale for so long I know what to expect and I think maybe some of the younger fans are only finding this out.

You're too cheerful for me.

I'm more a glass half empty person rather than a glass half full one like you!

Glass half full, glass half empty. My wife wants to know why I bought a glass twice as big as what I need.😁

Who is the bloke having a go at him?

Darren Moore?

I’m not really a fan of managers and players coming over to the fans. It’s never a good idea when a lot of them have been on the ale or are just angry. I’d gone by then but I’ve seen the video and that’s typical vale fans that. Some were getting their hopes up based on the 2 cup wins and then when we lose the next one give the manager stick. It’s not Brady’s fault and I think he’s now seeing one of the weaknesses in this squad, one of which is a mentality thing I think. We looked beaten as soon as they scored. I’m not sure how he can instill the belief and desire into some of these players because I don’t think we have desire in some of them. Once we went behind I thought some of their body language and efforts in doing some of the basics, like closing down and tracking runners was half arsed. We need to recruit right, which is going to be difficult in January, I hate to say we need to prepare for another season in league two.

We are down pretty much bar the shouting in my opinion. There is just to much to do with a team that is incapable of doing it.

That said…weirdly I think yesterday puts in a better position in terms of personnel. Brady has overseen 2 pressure-less cup games where we have won. This team has done that all season, won when it doesn’t matter. He will learn more by seeing us capitulate in the second half in the league. There were positives in the first half. But the sooner we see the less of the likes of Ojo, Headley, Shipley, Brown, Waine, et al the better. The game summed Ojo up brilliant first half when we played well. Sulked all second half when we needed him to step up.

Unfortunately you can’t get rid of them all else we will have no team 🤣🤣🤣

I would hope that those not around the squad yesterday have been told that they can find themselves new home too. Wish it had been done publicly like Mickey did all those years ago.

Think Brady handled this really well. As I say at least he’s seen the other side of this squad now. I suspect there might be some movement this week ahead of Exeter.

So many bell ends at football and we have a pretty high proportion of them. But the worst thing about that video is at the end, him calling Brady 'gaffer'. Cringe.

Thats what we scored away this season

Just watched the clip fair play to Brady that’s one fair dinkum Aussie

Brady going over got some balls do that however i dont know why he bothered ,i bet the fans were fuming with second half performance after all were we not attacking our support second half and managed not one attempt at goal .

No wonder fans were livid 30 get in and turn in a lie down and die second half display

Brady going probably spend every game going over too them now .

What the hell did he think they were going give him a standing ovation after the players capitulation .

Poor fella he needs stay away from our hardcore, they are hard too please when winning, never mind losing and losing like that ....

Unfortunately selling your best players sends out the wrong signals! I get it we are a selling club and it's no good having player who wants away, non the less the message is there!  For a club our size we have fantastic away support it's a pity the player's don't appreciate that. Without some real response we are going down with a whimper! Anyone who thinks we will bounce back is truly delusional! We are in for some very difficult times.

Very easy to miss things live in all the hustle and bustle.

So looking at YouTube lowlights. No coverage oddly of the Brown and Shipley chances.

But talk about desire and character. As woeful as Amos was for the second goal, just look at Mitch Clark for the initial cross. Hardly busted a gut to get tight to his man in the corner then turns his back on the cross.

Not good enough.

The more I reflect on yesterday the more I’m ashamed of certain Vale fans.

The bloke in the clip where Brady comes over the the fans is embarrassing.

Certain fans coming on here and having a go at Brady.

The bloke has been brought in to correct a colossal f***k up and turn the fortunes around of a team rock bottom in terms of confidence, style of play and in many cases ability.

We all know that in order to perform a miracle and stay up we need everyone pulling in the right direction, supporting the manager and players. Giving them confidence.

Its worth remembering how long it took DC to get his first win.

Any yet the first sniff of it actually being quite difficult and realising that no magic fairy is going to float down and hand us survival… and some people lose their heads and stay acting like 5 year olds who don’t get what they want immediately.

And honestly, these are the people that complain when the owners “don’t listen to them”… if you want the owners to listen it would help if you didn’t sound moronic at every single possible opportunity… because if you do, much like crying wolf, when there are genuine concerns and we do need them listening to us, yours are the voices that will lead to the notion that the fans are not able to have sensible, rational input.

End of rant.

Happy Sunday

Bang on great post.

I also feel ashamed.

Brady in his first interview said he came into the job with his eyes wide open.

Love a penny for his thoughts this morning after the reaction from a few clowns.

A really poor look 😕

It's the usual suspects again, I see. They just can't help themselves. Do it all the time at away games. Clearly can't handle their ale but act like super fans on social media. Had a run in with one of them down at Gillingham when they were abusing Connor Ripley at full time. Made threats then crawled up his own backside when confronted afterwards. I just don't understand the need for it. Vent online if you wish, but don't verbally abuse people, especially those who cannot be blamed for these things whatsoever.
