BBC weather says dry and bright day tomorrow and light rain Saturday, so let's hope the pitch drains enough.

OF, the BBC. They’ve probably taken one weather report, edited out a large section and then tagged on another weather report. Allegedly by accident

That would be typical BBC.

Maybe they intend copying their political reporting!

If Brown is 50-50 does that mean we don't have 4 strikers on the bench?

How on earth can we play a 3-1-6 whilst chasing the game? Moore out!

  • robf changed the title to Match Thread - Port Vale v Peterborough Utd

So in Valiant substack Vale had sold 7800 by early afternoon ,and Peterboro had sold 690 so regardless how many attend upto yet 8490 tickets have been bought

So i dont really want to go into last time i saw  Vale win in league 1 but its coming upto 2 years v Wigan

Its being a long haul but im not dispirited .

Finishing at 6a.m sleep till 2 at best then up Vale see if we can get that run of the ball whats sadly missing in home games thus far

Team well ive no idea as havent listened too pre match from DM and Waine train

Id go

    Gauci

John Henegan Hall Headley

       Byers Walters

 Hall       Paton  Waine

        Cole

If all fit, if not well i liked Croasdale with Walters if GB doesnt make it at Birmingham they were so damn good together ,if Johns out that area is a problem but i think he will be fine .

Bring it on regardless

My bench if my starting team is correct

Curtis Shipley Faal Amos Lomax(Clark ) Debrah Stockley Croasdale Johnson if fit also a smashing player obviously can only have 7 so Stockley and  Lomax miss out .

It’s a big match for £10 so I’d like to think it’ll be a good crowd. Pivotal for our season. As other’s have said, don’t win this, I can’t see us staying up.

I think the players picked are secondary to the system. If we revert to a back five, we're screwed no matter which players are on. If we stick to a back four I think we have a good chance, almost irrespective of which players are on. We are way past the point where timid tactics are going to get us out of trouble. If we are going down, let's go down swinging at least the fans will respect that.

Exactly, I would rather see us throw caution to the wind and press when we’ve actually got a bit of momentum behind us in the game and leave a few gaps than just sit back, especially at home.

The psychology of a win would would be massive.

Would be 4 points behind Posh.

Plymouth play Doncaster would would, at worst, be 5 points behind both or 4 points behind one.

Burton have Stevenage away so if that goes as expected we’d be 5 points from them.

Mansfield have Stockport, so if that goes as expected we’d be 5 points from them.

Bonus would be Blackpool and Exeter dropping points.

Would potentially be 4-5 points from around 5 teams, which mentally would be very different from the 8-10 it might be if we lose

Tomorrow's referee is a new one for us and her name is Kirsty Dowie who took charge of the 2022 Women's FA Cup Final, 2023 Women's League Cup Final and is on the FIFA's International List of women's referees. She has also officiated in the Women's Champions League, WSL and The Women's UEFA u17s final this Summer and has officiated 3 League 2 games this season but tomorrow will be the first game that she has officiated in League 1.

Some of the best refs we have had have been female, no egos.

Found virtually all female refs at Vale to be excellent. The linos though have been shocking .

Exactly all the female referees we have had have been excellent.
