You would hope they had a short list of managers in/out of work that they could approach.  Other clubs manage it - but it takes weeks and weeks for them to get near a manager being approached.

Sorry to anyone who went today and equally sorry to anyone who has come to the realisation today that he needs to go. 

Don't think Carol needs to <ovf censored> off though as one poster eloquently put it. She does need some football experience at the club. I really hope she can figure out how to bring someone in experienced to run the football side. DOF, CEO, Call them what you like but get the help you clearly need on the football side please Carol. There's only so long these supporters will keep turning up on blind loyalty.

Desperate situation for Vale now. Feel sorry for DM in one way on losing two of our most important players in the same week in Ojo and Byers, add John to that.  Yes we got Mitch back but he's nowhere near match fit. And then to lose Conor is terrible. 

BUT that doesn't excuse how bad we've been for the last few months and our poor tactics. 

I still think that, if Carol sacks DM today and gets a new manager in, we clear out some of the deadwood in the window and get a few new players in, then there is still a chance we can save our arses this year. 

But it doesn't look good. And from the interview with Matt it looks like they're going to back him anyway. 

Personally I think that's a mistake.

I’m not saying she should go. But it’s a disgrace what she’s done, and you can’t use the excuse of not having football people. 

The last relegation season I’d give her that excuse. Now she’s making the same mistakes. It’s inexcusable.

Darren you've got to go pal. When he made that sub at 0-0 non of the players had a <ovf censored> clue what he was doing, who was playing where, what the formation was meant to be. Our best player (& best player on the pitch by a country mile) George Hall, ended up at full back.

The bloke is tactically inept. Rauri was losing his head when the sub was made, nobody was telling anybody the plan. Darren just stood there with his hood up.

Any chance he resigns?

That result today has to be the final nail. We haven't won a league game since September, it's barmy.

The players are nowhere near good enough that’s as simple as that but with him in charge it’s laughable now. He should’ve been fired after the Plymouth defeat. We’re going to be relegated for a second time in three years and people at the club said it would be different. 
 

Carol shanahan this is as much as your fault as the crap served up on the pitch every week. Why have you not sacked him? It may just give everyone a lift at the club and a slight hope of things may change?

Most of us wanted DM to make it and yes players getting injured have not helped.

But his tactics at the start of the season were bewildering and confused us, but also the players by the looks of it.  The choice of new players are proving to be poor.

Carol and Board - you need to get rid and rid tonight.

If we get the right manager - or caretaker manager in - then we stand a chance of turning this around.  With DM at the helm - bring on Lg 2 by Feb.

PS. Another piss poor team come to our place & walked off with a 1 goal victory. Peterborough were awful, another team there for the taking. The league is <ovf censored> this year, the fact we're bottom is astounding.
