Match Thread - Lincoln City v Port Vale

Featured Replies

Lincoln has never been a happy hunting ground for us especially when they are in the promotion places. Losing today may cost DM his job but ironically it's not so much this result but what proceeded this . Lincoln , just the final nail in the coffin, a coffin that DM has constructed for himself.

Back to 532 this half. Protect the 1-0.

The coffin must be 90% nails at this point

That wasn't a direct shot though as it was a b8llock dropped by our loanee keeper only to be saved by a goal line clearance

It was dropped then a shot on target cleared by Henneghan on the line.

For me this is what I struggle to square with what Hancock was referring to when he said that they can see signs of us winning football games. I’d love to know what they are

we turn up !  for a change

Then with 10 minutes to go (including injury time) brings on a couple of attack minded players.

Square lid on a round coffin?

That is completely unforgivable and such an negative mindset from DM.

Not easy reading these comments about our poor quality, even if they are the hard truth. The one thing I can never tolerate though is reading that other teams are "more athletic" than us.  There is no excuse for not being able to match teams physically, it should be a given from training and physical preparation. Not tracking back to cover players is either lazy, incompetent, or being too knackered to do it.  None of these are acceptable for a professional footballer.

Perhaps being a bit harsh, we dropped into it briefly when under pressure.

Or the other fact - players are now going through the motions and not really playing for the manager anymore.  Again not acceptable.

The thing is it's been proven time and time again though that 532 doesn't work for us anymore.

We just have no patterns of play when we get into the final third. What do we work on?

Stockley for Faal is a disgraceful sub

FAAL about to come on.  Stockley now coming off.  Oh well - no goals for us again then.
