I'm not aiming this personally at you but Vale fans have an historical penchant for favouring workrate over ability. It's why players like Constantine and even Byers at the moment are not rated because they don't run around like a loon. I thought Gabriel had 2 or 3 really good games in a row once he'd settled and got up to full fitness..he had a great game at Wimbledon. He's probably not up to full fitness after being out for nearly 4 months and perhaps isn't quite committing yet to everything.

To move forwards, we need players with quality on the ball and Gabriel is far superior to Mitch. Effort and workrate are great up to a point, but they don't impact on the game.
 

 

If this is true or not with Cole telling the board he will not kick a ball for vale if the Luton move did not happen ?. Didn't speak to the gaffer either?

I posted earlier saying it looks like we have given up but this signing says maybe not…just yet. There is also hope that we could still sign a player if they have become available after cancelling their contract which usually happens. I think we are possibly a central mid light now of having a crack at staying up. It’s a massively tall order but I’ll enjoy the rest of the season much more if we give it a good bloody go!

At first I would agree, but he looked totally disinterested for a while. I have the impression he thinks he is far better than he actually is.

Another ex-loanee for us on the move in Brandon Cover to Rotherham on a permanent. I always quite liked him when he was here.

I don’t think anyway can say that signing Andre Gray is a bad move. All his career has been at a higher level than league one. 
It’s a short term deal. He’s a proven goalscorer. 
I dare say this has been in the pipeline for a bit and not just a phonecall at 4pm this afternoon!

If he is fit and hungry then it could be an absolute master stroke. 
Yes he’s 35 but he’s coming to a league beneath his obvious talents so maybe it just might work out for both parties. And regardless of age, the bloke knows where the net is.

Lets not forget than when we signed Lee Hughes he was 37.
