Only the most recent club where the record is poor. Plymouth were in the championship so 3 in 13 is ok. If he’s fit this about as good a signing we could make given where we are

You will always get some who will find the negative in anything to do with Vale,it's those who i actually have to question whether they are Vale fans or not

Curtis and Cole had bad attitudes and didn't want to be here...that's why they both left and rightly so.

I'm not aiming this personally at you but Vale fans have an historical penchant for favouring workrate over ability. It's why players like Constantine and even Byers at the moment are not rated because they don't run around like a loon. I thought Gabriel had 2 or 3 really good games in a row once he'd settled and got up to full fitness..he had a great game at Wimbledon. He's probably not up to full fitness after being out for nearly 4 months and perhaps isn't quite committing yet to everything.

To move forwards, we need players with quality on the ball and Gabriel is far superior to Mitch. Effort and workrate are great up to a point, but they don't impact on the game.

I disagree with your first sentence but bravo on the rest of your post

Nice knowing you all
Don't be daft Osh. One of the few who talk sense on here.

Big Mo must have recovered from his injury quickly then

I think the club has had a good transfer window in that it has made a sizeable reduction in its playing budget.

Getting two of its highest earners (maybe the two highest) Curtis and Cole off the books (presumably at a profit). Add to that the £1M for Tolaj. We are now much closer to the league 2 budget for next season

As a ST holder i am deeply disappointed that we kept DM beyond the Plymouth game, and previous to that failed to play players in their recognised positions.

The low scoring football has been abysmal and boring. Dont know why DM was ever appointed - not exactly a CV of success to warrant the absolute faith they put in him.

So what have we got to look forward to? The new Manager, the new signings? Hope?

Ben Garrity is my only hope. That he can 'rouse the troops' and get performances out of a squad of players that should be sitting above the relegation line.

If the results for the remainder of the season can match the results when Garrity has played surely my hope is not misplaced is it?

With other clubs in the relegation fight making quality signings i fear the worst.

To be honest we’ve shipped out people who either don’t fit, don’t want to be here or both - for transfer fees likely commanded for experienced players with years left on their contracts. Replaced them with loans or short-terms who can do a job without absorbing that profit. The squad is leaner too. All this constrained by the fact that it must be very difficult to attract players at the moment. The only Brady-er that’s played has been Archer and he’s looked excellent. I trust in Brady’s project at the moment as he’s shaping the squad, and incrementally improving a very bloated, underperforming and demotivated squad. Wait until the summer when he has cash, space and time to really get his squad on the way to where he wants them.

A lot more will also leave in the summer as well with so many out of contract in the summer and that is when hopefully the big rebuild will happen

I guess it puts to bed the theory that Brady wouldn't be able to bring the bigger name players here as well
