He’s not injury prone. Hes had two major injuries. Playing part time was probably ideal to help him get fit. But hey may as well boo the new guy

Oh yes he is. That lad will rewrite the book on injuries, or excuses for not turning up for training or matchday. He will redefine what you thought was possible to get away with, or how many colds or sniffles one person can catch. And Im speaking as a cobblers season ticket holder, who is amazed that Brady is stupid enough to give him another chance. Best of luck for this or next season, because it looks like our paths may cross again soon.

Dont think anyone is surprised here with this. But what a horrific decision to give him the captains armband. What ,estate does that send out.
It’s going to take us 2 years to recover from Darren Moore. I cant get my head around anyone hearing him speak and deciding to hand the keys to the club to him.

As someone else posted, it could purely be to boost his resale value. Nothing wrong with that.

The players are a bunch of rats.

Which is fair enough because we're very much a sinking ship.

Moore, Devante, Ronan all think they are better than us. Moore's tenure is now in full effect, we are left to pick up the peices and will be doing so for a long while yet. He is too blame for this mess. All things football Moore. Employed and trusted and failed.

The only one I'm gutted about so far is Mitch. But his contract is up at the end of the season and it wouldn't be renewed anyway I don't think. Has it actually been confirmed he's gone yet? I haven't seen it?

There wouldn’t be if that made any sense at all. Someone posting it online doesn’t make it so. Being captain for one game isn’t going to make anyone pay a premium for a player. It could make the manager look weak or stupid though. This just reeks of a David Brent esque attempt at motivation. Thinking it’s cleverer than it actually is. Might as well bring a ghetto blaster and a tight white tshirt to motivate the troop before the match too.

Are we?
Not saying Debrah was amazing but it seems counterproductive to let him go and bring in this guy who, by all accounts from Northampton fans, has the same attributes but is injury prone, and has been out of the professional game at a league 3 levels below in a team that is somehow worse than us, so it’s not like he’s coming in on good form or with any confidence.
Hope he proves me wrong but this signing screams “I have no footballing contacts and no-one wants to come to us” (understandable).

Maybe, but it’s probably more a case of nobody from a higher league/level wanting to come in to a team at the bottom of the league and certain for the drop. The only players who’ll see us an attractive position are desperate ones - desperate for a contract and likely to be not much cop ones - or in non-league and desperate to move upwards whether they’re cut out for it or not. This window isn’t the one to judge Brady IMO - it’s a sticking plaster on an open wound situation. Summer will be the one to measure by. No use paying over-inflated prices now for what will essentially be fill in players. Get good prices for our players while in contract but unwanted, or out of contract at the end of the season and likely to leave on a free - now - and get better value for less money in the summer.
This is a comment about Brady that I've seen a number of times from Northampton fans.
Non league Jon.

Best players? 🤔 Best potential but have not delivered at all this season!

Because we employed a remedial idiot in charge of everything football

The previous poster explained it as giving the impression that he was a player that a team was being built upon, so we could argue to potential interested parties that he’s of greater value than he actually is. You might not find that convincing, but there’s a logic to it.

You’re making the mistake of assuming other clubs are run as shambolicly as us. Like random posters on a vale message board are going to think of a genius tactic to inflate a transfer that actual competent football people will fall for. No need for due diligence, just a Google search would sort this one out. If he had thrown his toys out, then it’s a dreadful and worrying decision. Might as well make Shipley and Ojo go captains next.

Well, I am shell shocked. I didnt think it could get worse. 45 years supporting Vale and not seen anything like this. Our better players being shipped out and then a 27 year old crock from the 7th teir comes in. The club has given up. Its embarrasing.

Correct and there’s only one person to blame for it all.
