for me, ignoring form and injury, the following players are L1 quality when played correctly:

Gauci, Humphries, Johnson, John, Gabriel, Clark, Byers, Ojo, Walters, Garrity, G. Hall, Curtis, Cole

Then you’ve got players that are probably L2 quality (some that maybe have potential to be L1):

Amos, C. Hall, Debrah, Heneghan, Headley, Gordon, Croasdale, Shipley, Paton

The rest are either young kids or loan players that maybe aren’t at the level required (feels slightly harsh on Brown but he’s proven at NL level but not L2, and does not look like he’s ready for L1 yet).

The worrying thing about this is defensively we are relying on a lot of L2 quality players.

For the size of our squad, recruitment has been poor. Moore has attracted a few ‘names’ but he has neglected a very important area of the pitch (especially when we play with three centre halves).

Agree accept these 4 players.

Heneghans career has been mainly at this level. Our best defender when player. A bit slow granted but he organises, heads everything going and has decent range of passing.

Headley I think is good enough but completely devoid of confidence and does look a poor player at the minute.

Gordon, I felt played well when I  the team. Thought he looked good until injury.

I firmly believe a move away from WB’s and less rotation will really show our squad in a much much better light. Honestly think this squad should be comfortable mid table.

The way I see it, in January I would try to move on Debrah,Hall,Ojo, Croasdale & Garrity.

I’d be open to offers for Curtis, Stockley.

Switch to 4231/433 variant and target a CB,Winger & ST. If we can move any midfielders then bring another CM. Depending on Clarke and Gordon injury prognosis we would need a FB. We need to inject a bit more pace and directness to our game to be a greater threat to get around the back of teams.

More chance of Faal turning into a footballer. 

Depends what division we are planning for!  If it’s Division 4 then a robust CB who rarely gets injured and a proven pedigree of getting promotion could be useful 😉

Thats weird. Unless Villa are going to sell Gauchi wants the point? I really can't see a pathway for Gauchi getting into Villa's setup.

Rachel from accounts will probably be free in January. Could she do any worse than what we have at the club at the moment. Any position, recruitment, coaching,CEO or even to replace Darren ‘Merlin’ Moore.

Its just a thought, none of those at the club including the owners are taking it seriously, so why should I. 

No doubt she would get a run out at wing back - as qualified for that as she is her current role!

Maybe we are not fully happy with Gauchi, or indications are that Villa don’t want him embroiled in a relegation scrap? 

I hope if this is true, it’s just a loan. I don’t want us to sign him permanently because if he gets called up for the African Nations competition, it’ll affect our equilibrium and damage any chances we have of promotion in future years.

A few joked DM may be thinking of using the goal keepers we have as RWB's or even strikers.

Maybe DM & Co have read this and now thinking this will work?  🤣
