I am told that there is real interest from York and Rochdale for Jesse.
The manager has been told he must reduce the wage bill this January.

Regarding the wage bill,i think that will just be that he has been told to reduce the squad size to allow more players to come in.

York pay decent wages and Rochdale could be on their way to promotion to the FL so either might appeal to him especially if he only signed a 1yr extension in the summer

As i put in another thread I am hoping any players that come in are to fit the new system, either the 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 and not the system DM has chosen to play through his managerial career

Lee Bonis seems to be a striker in form and is 26

Would obviously cost a fee though

So is Harry Leonard at Posh, unfortunately !!

I was quite perplexed when DM was questioned about Amos the other day.

He came out with something like we've got 3 good keepers all fighting and pushing each other for the jersey.

It's almost reminiscent of the Bruno season where we had about 5 keepers.

We are Port Vale not a Premier league club.

2 keepers plenty with a 3rd choice as a youth keeper. Utilise the emergency loan if the main 2 get crocked.

For us to have 3 is pretty mad. Particularly as Gauci wasn't an emergency signing.

I agree here. I heard that interview too and it seemed clear to me he didnt want to throw any of them under the bus but knows Marosi is nowhere near it.

I suspect Amos was down to be number one and then a younger keeper signed as a loan to provide back up or potentially replace him long term, but when Amos got injured that prompted signing a new number one about three weeks before the season started and most free agents or other good keepers had been snapped up.

Marosi has pedigree at this level - its daft to suggest otherwise - but not hard to see why he has never settled anywhere. When DM realised just how off the pace he was and didnt command his box, he recruited a loan keeper in Gauci.

When Amos was then fit he's the more trusted of the other two so Marosi has been left out I the cold.

But again, you have to question the wisdom of giving a two year deal to a goalkeeper who had barely played for the last six months due to a long term injury, and had been released by bloody Cambridge.

Poor transfer strategy at the Vale, some of those we might want to get rid of will be on big contracts so will be quite happy to sit it out and also who will want to come to us stranded and with the prospect of the 2nd division ? saying that they will sign but at a price, if the wage bill does have to be cut look on the clubs website they employ more than a small country.

Whatever happened to Quality over Quantity ? I'm sure we can move on several frozen out, fringe players and bring in fewer first team starters or contenders.

He's got to reduce the squad size, it's crackers to think he could bring in 4-5 players on top of the 28 players currently in the building, on top of the 4 first team players currently on loan.

Send back Faal and Brown. See if Yeovil finally want Plant permanently, same with Hart at Falkirk. However unlikely, try to find a new club for Marosi and Shipley. Johnson contract probably comes to an end given he's barely played anyway due to injury?

That frees up 7 wages, if we could bring in 4 actual L1 players that would be a bonus, extremely unlikely but a bonus.

I like Dajuane, agree on the others. But I’d also say it’s difficult to see Brown as anything other than a squad player. Would be very happy to see 4-5 go if 2-3 starters come in. I’d like to see more defensive cover, a winger, and if we swap out Faal and Brown, get another striker.

Here we go, everyones a manager!😁😔

The way I see it.

Send back Faal,Gaucci,Brown

Recall: Rico

Release: Johnson (Depending on Gordon injury status)

Available List: Marosi,Debrah, Ojo, Croasdale, Garrity, Shipley, Paton, Curtis, Stockley.  A lot of wasted wages in this squad with players who will struggle to get a game if we continue with the formation ( which we should) or are not good enough/ performing to the level required.

Priority Targets:
1/ Winger

2/ ST

3/ CB

4/ AM

5/ CM ( If players can be moved on and Byers and Ojo injury)

GK: Amos/Marosi

RB: Clarke/Johnn

CB: Heneghan/ New CB

CB: Humphreys/Hall

LB: Headley/Gordon

CM: Byers/ Walters

CM:Ojo/Croasdale

AM: Paton/New AM/Curtis

LW:Rico/Waine/Curtis

ST: Cole/New ST

RW: Hall/ New Player

Why send back Gauci? He's been one of the only bright sparks! Don't disagree with a lot of your other calls, although most of the people on your "make available" list are out of contract in 6 months so unless someone's desperate (and to take a player from a team at the bottom of the league you'd have to be) I can't see us shifting them.

I like experience when your in the <ovf censored> so I’d prefer Amos in nets along with his mic better distribution which helps setup attacks better.

I don’t like a loan signing just say on the bench every week, seems a waste.

The available list isn’t about player value from sales but reducing squad size and freeing up wages.

Easiest way to improve results right away would be to get a decent keeper.
