Summer transfer rumours and speculation

The main things for a GK are being gaff-averse, confident, commanding, a good communicator / organiser. I wouldn’t ever trade that solidity provided by Ben for a mixed bag ranging from 1-10/10. We need a consistent GK and Amos is reliable.

You can cross Ihiekwe off your shopping lists, fingers crossed this wasn't the reason we turned our back on Smith and they've got something else up their sleeve.

We would have been laughing in midtable with him. I’ll take giggling/chuckling in 14th with another target.

3 year deal is why he’s gone there I’d guess. Good signing though

You think dm and Carol want 15th? I'm guessing they want to replicate stockport and wrexhams succes

I’d love that but it’s probably more realistic to set expectations lower and build along a similar line as Leyton Orient. I’d snap your hand off at 15th this year. Then look at top ten and then a play off push

More to goalies than just 1-1s, organise to reduce the chances?

Given Horsfall 4 years too although he's younger.

Blackpool pushing the boat out early doors.

Seen that Blackpool have brought in Fraser Horsfall from Stockport on a 4 year contract. Great signing that is, must be on some money.

Alan Nixon said the other week that Blackpool are going to go for it this coming season,so that looks correct

What about Jamie Smith ?

Wayne Jacobs (once he returns from sick leave) is Vale’s Assistant Manager rather than Coach.

Jamie Smith is Vale's Lead First Team Coach, and Lee Bradbury was his sidekick.

Gary Walsh is Vale's Goalkeeper Coach.

There's also a lot of valuable coaching experience amongst Vale's Academy leaders.

The news article about Lee's departure made it sound as though his replacement is imminent - let's hope so.

Looks like we have missed out on Iheiwke who is set to go to Blackpool

It's hard to find a decent rumours account on social media but i think we need keep an eye on that FLW one as they aren't far off with things.... said we were in for Gabriel..... said Ihiekwe will choose between Bruce and Moore and then also said the other that Dennis will be signing for Notts County so not a bad return really, keep em peeled peeps

It said at the bottom of the article that we should look out for more news on first team soon...

That seems more to do with the first team plans for our 150th Anniversary, that's how i read it

Even so i am sure more signings will be soon as we are only a couple of weeks off training starting

"Look out for more over the coming days for a further update on first-team plans as we prepare for our 150th anniversary campaign."

I guess you could read that as referring to management, to players or to both.

But it was appended to an article about the management change, so I read it as referring to Lee's replacement being announced over the coming days.

They wouldn't of got rid of Smith if they didn't think they could bring in better, they will have a list of targets I am sure, maybe we offered 2 years and Blackpool have given 3

Some long deals being handed out 4 years to Horsfall and 3 now to Ihiekwe
