Summer transfer rumours and speculation

Featured Replies

He’s not played more than half of league games in and is 32. We can make more sensible acquisitions.
Totally agree. I think that's bonkers short term thinking from Blackpool. They've already had financial issues before, and this seems irresponsible to me.

Matthew Dennis to Notts.another player we may potentially have missed IF you believe a certain FLW post… not sure I did to be honest.
Glad we didn't go there. Not good enough in my opinion and he isn't exactly a youngster. Agent talk I suspect.

Ricardo Santos is quite good - he just happened to have bad games against us.

The inverse Kurtis Guthrie, who was quite bad but had one good game against us.

Even I'm bored now.

Can we sign 2 players , every few days, until the first pre-season game 3 weeks on Friday please?

Many thanks

BJ

Took us until June 17th to make our second signing last summer (Croasdale).

The vast majority of our signings were between June 20th and July 20th.

From Vale’s Twitter (and the messages to our players they’ve been posting) you can see that pretty much every player is on holiday at present - things will begin to motor when they return in the next week and then start to sign deals the week after.

Wayne Jacobs (once he returns from sick leave) is Vale’s Assistant Manager rather than Coach.

Jamie Smith is Vale's Lead First Team Coach, and Lee Bradbury was his sidekick.

Gary Walsh is Vale's Goalkeeper Coach.

There's also a lot of valuable coaching experience amongst Vale's Academy leaders.

The news article about Lee's departure made it sound as though his replacement is imminent - let's hope so.

Maybe Stephen Ireland permanently?

So we missed out on Iky…surprised by that...There again who gives a 32 year old a 3 year contract. Glad we didn’t!

Yep, we've been stung before when those clowns Flitcroft & Crosby thought it a good idea to extend Ojo's contract by 3 more years! 🥴

Well so far Bradford have taken a gamble imo on 31yr old Max Power who has played around 20 games abroad over 2yrs and a 33yr old League 2 CB

interesting

Going down going down going down….

I think for a top 10 spot we need

1 keeper

2 centre back

1 new striker

1 midfielder

All of these need to be starting 11 signing

Plus loans

Who do you want to replace from our starting 11 with that wish list?

Amos would be put as backup for the new keeper. I think amos is good enough for this level but I don't think he is good enough to get us past it.

Back 3 would be Hall and the 2 new cb so I'd replace Deborah and henneghan.

Stricker would replace Stockley, I think Stockley has the experience however I don't think he is good enough for the top half of league 1 anymore so I'd have him as a backup.

1 midfielder to improve our arguably pretty decent midfield.

And then whatever loans dm thinks wr need

For us, this season starts a weekend earlier than last year, so can maybe expect a shift forward by a week or so?

Amos wil be fine in L1 but obviously needs competition. We don't want another Ripley situation where he's guaranteed a starting place each week

On your wish list we would actually need 3 CB's if you want to replace Deb and Heneghan as we have no Smudge now. I don't think thats realistic. Maybe 2 replacing Smudge and RCB so Deb and Henegahn are squad players?

Midfield's a tough one, thats why I ask, assuming we play 352 Byers,Walters & Garrity- POTY Croz sat on the bench? Another player a bit different who could perhaps be more flair?

I get Stockley, undoubtedly we need a 3rd striker who can do a similar role.
