I met Mckirdy on way back from Wembley he was a really nice bloke. Agree with Joe though. The more we boo / wind him up the better he will play. He’s decent for this level and we just need to go about our business and focus on 3 points. Imagine if we had Bradford today, would be looking at 15k for a home vale match.
Immense follow up from vale fans, hopefully the atmosphere is as good as against Bradford and the lads perform

I was in the executive lounge at Swindon away in the play offs. He came in and did a speech after the game- came across as a right <ovf censored>! Said we are a dirty team and asked about his headed goal he just said “Drogba”.

Are u sure we averaged 8k home support?

Yes, 92/93 averaged 8,023. 93/94 promotion season averaged 8,377. 94/95 averaged 9,218. 95/96 8,217, then it came down in 96/97 to 7,840. 97/98 8,263. Then it fell off a cliff as we had another 2 poor seasons resulting in relegation in 2000, down to 6,900 98/99, then 5,900 99/00.

Caveat to that. Big away crowds in the Championship, but also, Bill Bell was in charge. The true average was probably a bit higher.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing due to the weather but it would have been nice to put in the temporary seats in the Lorne Street that they used for the Robbie Williams concert(I'm sure they could get some) and let fans sit in there. Access and exit via the Hamil and I'm sure those stewards who don't do a huge amount, could actually earn their money, and be responsible for letting fans in and out.

I remember,at one time, you could pay to get at half time from the Bycars to the the Paddock. Not sure if it was threepence or a tanner.Good idea though DF.

Thx Howjy

I'm so pleased the weather has held out.

Hopefully the players can do their bit

Well let's put this on the big screen then. 😂😂😂😂🤗👍

His barnet has long reminded me of that famous 70s/80s cigar advert with the bloke who played Rab C Nesbitt.

Burton as well, behind the goal. The aisles between the terraces were packed with people standing. I couldn’t physically get into the stand out of the concourse. I asked a steward what he’d do in the event of someone having a cardiac arrest and he said no idea, he didn’t even have a radio.

Why is VP being disadvantaged!?

Burton Albion capacity is quoted as 6912 in Wiki. So if correct below 10,000 and different rules apply. Covered in other threads.

There are seats in the Lorne Street on both sides.

Under the boxes? Are they used?

Since Crewe away I’ve been flabbergasted by our capacity restrictions.

The away end is an accident waiting to happen with nowhere near enough facilities and several dangerous bottlenecks which relies on folk not panicking.

If that’s at full capacity then I really struggle to understand why we’re limited.

Did you go Sheff Wed away?? How that Leppings Lane end is still allowed to operate is an absolute mystery. We only had the upper tier and the concourse was ridiculous (need to choose my words carefully). Christ knows what it must have been like for Newcastle fans when they filled both tiers a couple of days later in the cup.

We have to be that extra player today. Let's not wait to see something to cheer, let's boom from the start. Go a goal down, we go louder. A few teams around us are feeling the heat and faltering. We are not going to be one of those. 5 to go and we go for 5. Come on Vale. 🔥

On the train from Bristol to Stafford, change there for Longport. Should be in TommyC's around 1ish

Anyone know a good Oatcake shop on the way up from Longport...??

Can't wait

There is an Oatcake shop just up from the railway station at Longport, on the same road on the right as you walk away from the station 👍

No Dazfred, they haven't got a safety certificate because there is no access, the players gym is behind and until that is moved, nowt can be done.
